I know you must have read it somewhere, for those. That have not;here goes
Meanwhile, Annie Macaulay is now pregnant with her second baby and seventh for Tuface.
So, guys, here's an interesting HipHopWorld Magazine detailed report of how Tuface's Dubai wedding went down.
How it became the survival of the fittest to get on the ferry that conveyed everyone to the reception venue, how Senator Florence Ita Giwa was even pushed back when she tried getting on the boat, so she couldn't attend, how one member of the organising team, Naomi Adenuga was very rude to guests. Please read.
It was billed as the wedding of the year, and so it was no surprise that everybody wanted to be present there. It didn’t matter to some people whether they were invited or not. It was 2Face‘s wedding and they just had to attend.
So, it ended up being a struggle.
Gate Crashers
Quite a number of people gave out their invites to friends who were overjoyed to attend even if they didn’t know Annie and 2face personally. They made it worse by coming with other friends who were equally not invited.
Screening before entry was tight but trust Nigerians to always find a way around the toughest situations.
Don Jazzy; First Class Passenger, Plate Piler
Unlike other celebrities that flew business class and some economy, Don Jazzy flew first class to Dubai and rented a Rolls Royce Phantom to Jumeriah Beach Hotel; even though he wasn’t particularly noticed by most of the guests who were in already.
TuFace & Annie’s Love Boat
After having a huge turnout of guests, things got even more interesting as it became the survival of the fittest to get on the ferry that conveyed everyone to the venue of the reception which was ‘The Royal Beach Island’.
It wasn’t easy even for 2face and Annie to get onto their own love boat. 2face who hardly ever gets angry complained bitterly about it to those already on board. “Ol’boy, Na wao, to enter my own boat na wahala, our own boat o”.
The workers on the boat kept shouting “Move back, you will die”; scared that people might fall inside the water as they tried to force their way in.
Twice Senator Florence Ita Giwa tried to get in but she was pushed back. The organizers begged her for patience as they tried to get her on board but it didn’t work. There was nothing like VIP entry into the boat.
She later went home. After all, she lives like a queen in her beautiful house in Dubai. Wunmi Obe also could not attend the Beach Island reception as she could not get into the boat
Clueless Organizers
They may have successfully organized big weddings but 2face and Annie Idibia’s wedding organizers should have known that this particular wedding would be a different kettle of fish altogether. A handful of fans came from different parts of the world believing they would get in and they did.
One member of the organising team, Naomi Adenuga was very rude to guests.
“I don’t care if you are a dignitary or celebrity, get off the boat”, she shouted; insisting on the black card which was distributed at the venue to their own friends and people as the new authentic invite to the boat; ignoring many invited guests that flew in with their own money.
The Grand Reception
As guests arrived at the Royal Beach Island, they were quick to forget all the struggling they encountered trying to get on the ferry; as the ambience at the venue of the reception reminded you of a fairy tale movie.
Guests were treated to drinks of all kinds before the arrival of the couple. There was enough to eat and drink as host Basketmouth cracked everyone up; apologising for the ‘not-so-sexy’ boat ride. He also promised that the reception would live up to all expectations and it sure did.
When time for food came, guests had to wait until they were invited table by table to the buffet.
Music was by none other than veteran DJ Jimmy Jatt and guests danced like dancing was running out of fashion.
Busy Doing Nothing
P-Square should have been there to sing “Busy Body” for some celebrities who just hung around looking lost. Some of them were Jim Ikye, Ini Edo and Susan Peters to name a few...
Ariyo, the Godfather
He may be 2face’s friend, but Ariyi Emami simply played the role of Godfather throughout the wedding. We gathered that he sponsored the island reception and that was just one of the many other things he paid for.

President Jonathan's 2013 Easter Message to the Nation
Dear Compatriots,
I greet and felicitate with you all as we celebrate Easter which commemorates the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ after his redemptive self-sacrifice for the eternal salvation of mankind.
Irrespective of our religion or faith, all holidays provide us with a fresh opportunity to establish stronger bonds with our family, friends and all those around us for more enduring, harmonious and beneficial relationships.
As we celebrate this year’s Easter therefore, I urge all Nigerians to rededicate themselves to living in peace and oneness with all members of their communities no matter their ethnicity, religious beliefs or places of origin.
By now, it ought to be an accepted fact amongst us that our immense potential for greatness in the comity of nations derives in the main from our collective strength as a country of close to 170 million people and the acclaimed richness of our diverse human resources and natural endowments.
It follows, therefore, that to successfully achieve our vision of becoming one of the most dominant nations on the global stage in the shortest possible time, we must stay together as a people and continue to effectively resist by all possible means, the evil machinations of global terrorists and their misguided domestic accomplices who seek to provoke turmoil, hatred and harmful divisions among us.
I assure all Nigerians that our security agencies, armed forces and I will continue to fully discharge our constitutional responsibilities for protecting the unity and territorial integrity of this country with all the powers and forces at our disposal.
We must have peace, security and stability to effectively implement our agenda for national transformation in all parts of the country and we shall continue to work ceaselessly to re-establish the prerequisite conditions for nationwide progress and development.
For your part, dear countrymen and women, I urge you to continue to exhibit restraint and understanding in the face of seeming provocations. Those who mindlessly and indiscriminately attack churches, schools, health workers, motor-parks, banks and ordinary road users must be seen as they truly are: the brainwashed pawns of international terrorism.
They do not represent any true religion or section of the country and we must never play into their hands by succumbing to their nefarious ploys to incite religious, ethnic hatred and division among us.
It is my hope and prayer that as we celebrate the glorious resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, his lessons of self-sacrifice, brotherly love, placing others before self, tolerance, obedience, respect for lawful authorities, dutifulness, diligence, honesty, justice and fairness to all will take firmer root in our beloved country and help us to overcome present challenges and build the more peaceful, secure, united, progressive and prosperous nation of our dreams.
I wish you all happy Easter celebrations.

Breaking News: Imo Deputy Governor impeached
The Imo State House of Assembly has impeached the State’s Deputy Governor, Jude Agbaso.
Twenty four out of the 26 lawmakers in the Assembly approved the impeachment.
Churches, activists drag Jonathan to UN over pardon for Alamieyeseigha
World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) and Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) have dragged the President Goodluck Jonathan-led Federal Government to the United Nations Universal Periodic Review (UPR) expressing “serious concerns about the state pardon granted former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha by President Goodluck Jonathan.”
The groups said they “consider this to be entirely inconsistent with the country’s international human rights and anti-corruption commitments, and the promises made by the government of Nigeria to the United Nations during its Universal Periodic Review in 2009.”
The complaint was submitted to the UN as part of an update to the submission made by the groups to the UPR this month.
The 2009 UPR asked the government of Nigeria to pursue its “fight” against corruption so that “all its citizens” can enjoy peace, health and security. The government of Nigeria accepted all the recommendation.
WEA and SERAP said that, “However, despite these commitments to the international community, the government of Nigeria has not taken seriously its expressed commitment to combat corruption.”
The groups also said that, “By granting pardon for Alamieyeseigha the government has also seriously undermined the integrity and efficacy of the fight against corruption, eroded the credibility of public institutions (in particular anti-corruption institutions and agencies), undermined the deterrent effects of punishment for corruption, and engendered public cynicism.”
According to the groups, “The granting of pardon will also lead to a vicious cycle of corruption and impunity of perpetrators, and this can only continue to rob the government of its capacity to deliver services to the poor, and ensure that corrupt public officials keep the proceeds of their misconduct. This is double jeopardy for the victims of corruption in the country.”
The groups said that “This shows the government’s lack of political will to genuinely combat high level official corruption in Nigeria, and sends a wrong message that certain individuals who are close to the government will enjoy impunity for their misconduct and will be above the law.”
“Because corruption has been an intrinsic part of the way successive governments have operated, it will be impossible for the country to achieve development, sustainability and end poverty and discrimination if corruption persists,” the groups also said.
“We are also concerned that the granting of pardon amounts to a fundamental breach of the constitution of Nigeria, which among others requires the president to eradicate all corrupt practices and abuse of power. We hope to see the Universal Periodic Review of Nigeria reflect the concerns outlined in our submission (and this update), and include in its outcome document the following recommendations addressed to the government of Nigeria”:
a. Rescind without further delay the alleged state pardon granted former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha
b. Ensure full repatriation and recovery of the stolen public funds by Diepreye Alamieyeseigha
c. Ensure full transparency and accountability in government institutions
d. Improve financial oversight of government’s expenditure
e. Build judicial capacity to enhance the prosecution of corrupt public officials
Mr. Alamieyeseigha was detained in London on charges of money laundering while he was governor in September 2005. He escaped from the UK in December 2005. He, however, pleaded guilty in court to a six-count charge in July 2007, and was sentenced to two years in prison on each count charge.
WEA is a network of churches in 129 nations that have each formed an evangelical alliance and over 100 international organizations joining together to give a world-wide identity, voice, and platform to more than 600 million evangelical Christians
SERAP is a Nigerian based human rights and anti-corruption NGO.

BIZARRE: 40 FCT towns still kill twins
It is 98 years ago that Mary Slessor, the Scottish missionary to Nigeria, died. She was reputed to have led crusades that stopped some societies from killing twin babies at birth. Such births were taboo and not tolerated.
While her history remains alive, as her remains were interred in Nigeria, it seems some communities in Nigeria, even today, are out to rubbish and undo what Slessor did.
It might shock you to hear that there is still a community that still sees twins or multiple birth as abomination. But it is more confounding to find that the communities are in the nation’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT). How awful that even within the world’s newest city, with all the trappings of modernity, the preponderance of religions and inclinations that abhor killing of human beings, twin kids are still sacrificed to the gods of tradition that don’t want them alive like the biblical story of the notions that passed their babies through the fire of Molech.
Imagine yourself visiting a community called Basa Komo in the FCT and all of a sudden, you come face-to-face with a crowd. You move closer and are confronted with a helpless infant, struggling to set himself loose from the grip of community leaders, who want to bury him alive.
This scenario is not from a Nollywood film or a best selling novel. It happens today in a community in the nation’s FCT. In Bassa Komo, it is abomination to be born a twin, or a mother dies within three months of a baby’s birth, or a child grows upper teeth first or is born with defect. These are all faults of the baby or babies involved.
All these, to the people of the community, are signs that such babies were fabricated in the factory of the devil and are themselves evil. Such offences by the evil baby or babies are punishable by burial alive.
Such bizarre drama was witnessed by a couple, Olusola Stevens and his wife. Stevens is the North Central Director of the Christian Missionary Foundation (CMF). He has been in missionary work for 22 years. In all his years as a missionary, nothing prepared him and his wife, Chinwe, for the trauma of hearing or witnessing the practice of killing infants or burying some alive with their dead mothers even in the domain of the FCT.
Mary Slessor’s resurrection
Today, their happiness is that some of the rescued children have been reunited with their families, even though they are still living with the Stevens.
Stevens recalled to Abuja Metro the challenges of taking care of the rescued children but remains happy that: “God has never failed. Though there could be delays but He will surely come through and this we can testify to in our case.”
The Christian Missionary Foundation (CMF) is a non-denominational body with task of evangelising the interior and remote societies. That is the gospel that touches human lives.
“We just don’t preach the gospel. In some of the places we have been to, we have established schools, especially in the North East. We also have medical outreach centres. Basically, we don’t stay in city; we go to the interior to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to people.”
The CMF was launched in Ibadan in1982 by the late Bishop Benson Idahosa.
At the FCT
He said the group came into the FCT in the late 80s, reaching out to the Bassa Komo, the Gbagyi Yama and the Ganagana. “We went into the rural parts of Abuja, preaching, planting churches, organising literacy classes for the local people, who could not read or write,” he narrated.
They discovered some strange practices among the Bassa Komo (Gbajingala clan) that endanger the lives of children and asked God for an opportunity to save some of the children from the clutches of death.
“If you are not very observant, you will not know this practice is going on and it took us some time to actually confirm. Some of the enlightened indigenes of the area deny the practice, maybe out of shame, but it is still happening till date,” Stevens confirmed.
Killing twins
They are considered as strange spirits and not fit to live among men. When they are delivered, they will be poisoned (the child dies gradually) or is strangulated after being forcefully taken from the mother by masquerades that women are not allowed to see. Once they are killed, an altar will be raised on the walls of their huts to worship their spirits and make sacrifices to ward them off from returning. They believe the dead children are spirits that want to come back but they are not welcome.
Mum’s death after birth
Another outrageous practice is the killing of babies whose mothers die after their birth. If a woman delivers and dies during childbirth, the child will be tied to the body of the dead mother and buried alive with her. If the nursing mother should die of any cause without weaning the baby, the baby will be accused of having strange powers that killed the mother, the penalty for this is also death. In some villages, the children may be abandoned on the grave of the dead mother while some are left unattended to in the village, leading to starvation and eventual death.
Wrong teeth child
A child that grows upper teeth first is also bound to die. The couple discovered that babies that grow the upper teeth first are also killed because they are bad omen. This is neatly done, an outsider may never know when and how unless you understand their language and pay close attention to young babies in the area.
According to Stevens, the practice is not common among the Abuja indigenes alone, “We also learnt from some other agencies that we work closely with that twins are not allowed to live in Uturu, Abia State.”
“There is also sacrificing of young children to the fertility god during planting season to have bountiful harvest that is common amongst the Bassa. They don’t physically slaughter the baby but once they pick a baby, a child that is healthy now will mysteriously die. You will hear the child cry and complain of a minor ailment and the next minute, he or she is dead. We have two children in this category, they were brought to us by their mothers so as to save them from being sacrificed by their fathers,” the rescuer couple hinted.
Rescued kids
“The first child we rescued is a girl, Aisha. That was in 1997. She has gone to school, otherwise you would have met with her. Her father was about sacrificing her to the god of fertility like he allegedly did the previous ones but his wife was concerned that for how long would she continue to lose her children to the god of fertility. So, she confided in one of the villagers. All these I am telling you happened in less than 10km from here in a village called Kayi. So, she was advised to go to ‘aunty’ (my wife) to pray to her Jesus. Those that directed her had realised that when she is given to Jesus, she will be spared as her husband will not be able to use her for any sacrifice. My wife, the ‘aunty’, was my fiancĂ©e then. She was a pioneer missionary in that village. So, the baby was brought to my wife and asked to pray to prevent her husband from killing her. She promised to bring the baby back to Jesus once she grows a little. So, after we got married, the woman returned and said the baby was still alive and her husband had not done her any harm. She came back to give the baby to Jesus, as promised. She has been with us and now in JSS2.”
More odds
If a woman delivers triplets or quadruplets, they will be thrown into the Gurara River or strangled and later buried in the bush.
The couple said they learnt that Gbagyi Yama also practise killing of twins but “we are yet to rescue any child. We were to rescue a set of twins two years ago but they did not allow us. They were taken to the ancestral home and usually the babies will not return if taken there.”
The villages in these practices today are up to 40. Some of them are in Gwagwalada Area Council, more of them in Abaji, some in Kwali and part of Kuje.
“Since I live among them, we have missionaries, working in those villages. There are even natives, who are no longer comfortable with the practice after hearing the word of God and they run to tell non-native missionaries once they are about to kill twins or any other child. We tell them if you don’t want these ‘evil’ children, give them to us; we want them.”
Practical instance
“My wife, from Anambra State, was single and knew about the practice, even though the natives will deny it, particularly those who are embarrassed that such things still happen in their community. They never knew what to do or how to assist in saving these vulnerable babies.
“In January 2003, my dog delivered five puppies. After few days after, someone in the neighbourhood poisoned the dog. I could not watch the puppies die; so, I went to the market, bought feeding bottle and baby milk to start feeding the puppies. After nursing them for about two months; they died one after the other. It was a real sad experience.
One fateful day in April of the same year, one of the missionaries, working with me in the interior, came with two and half-month old-baby girl. He told me the baby was rescued from death by a Muslim cleric, who contacted him to take the baby. The cleric, who lived in Beri Beri village had passed by a house where a nursing mother died and they wanted to bury the child alongside her.
After discussing with the missionary and my wife, we decided to keep the baby for a day. When the baby was rescued, she was already traumatised from crying and rough handling. Usually, before they bury the baby they will do some incantations, put something on the baby, chanting ‘you evil child, we reject you, you must not come here again’. Our intention was to actually send the baby to the welfare department after getting her treated but the Lord rebuked me for my insensitivity, asking that if I could take care of the puppies, why not a baby? After sharing my thought with my wife, we made up our mind to keep the baby. That girl is now in primary school at Christ Academy, Gwagwalada, doing very well.”
A Home for the ‘evil’ kids
To really settle down and handle the rescue assignment, the couple had to set up a home, the Divine Heritage Home as an offshoot of the missionary work in the interiors.
Two weeks after the first rescue, a baby boy was rescued from death. He too is in school now. They call him Wonder Boy. From that time, they mandated the missionaries to do more to save as many children as possible from the strange practices.
“We have rescued about 33 such kids spread across several villages. There are also 13 less privileged children that were picked from the rural areas. All the children are in school. The youngest we have now is a set of twins about four months old, Rachael and Rebecca.”
At the time they started rescuing the children, one of them had asked the villagers if after some four years and the child turns healthy, they would have such back. They bluntly refused, saying the evil spirit would still be in their bodies.
Sacrifice
The terrain through which they pass to the rescue these children is terrible, particularly during the rainy season. The road is usually muddy, that they find it almost impossible to go with motorbikes and sometimes have to walk long distances to get to the kids.
There are days they don’t get back home in Gwagwalada until 2am. “That is how we started raising those children. Since God asked us to raise them we don’t give them out for adoption. God told us expressly to nurse them that He would take them back to their communities so as to stop this practice. How He will do that, we do not know.”
No adoption
And to the glory of God, we didn’t give them out for adoption even after suggestions to do so. We know their family houses, we know each of the compound where we got the children from,” Stevens said with satisfaction.
“We make sure we collect data of their families, including their grandparents and relations. We usually tell them that these children are yours but we want to show you that there is nothing wrong about them. Rejecting them is just a cultural thing, a taboo.
“The practice of killing or rejecting a child that grew upper teeth first was there in the past in Yoruba land where I come from. They didn’t believe such child was normal but today, it is no longer there. In Calabar, it was also the issue but long dropped.
So, it is their culture here but we are working to convince them to drop it because these children are precious. Some of the kids were rescued at tender ages, a day old, two weeks old, a month old, etc.”
Poisoning the kids
Initially, they didn’t know the twin kids are sometimes poisoned before disposing of them. So, the first baby they rescued was involved in that and they later lost her. She was named Olufunmilayo. “When we rescued her, her twin sister had died of the poison but we had thought it was because she was premature. It was a missionary with the Redeemed Christian Church that saw them, trying to kill this baby that rescued her.”
After taking Olufunmilayo to the hospital and running tests, she still was not improving and she was on admission for about four days, and later died.
“I narrated our observations to the national coordinator of the mission, a medical doctor, who left his practice to work in the mission. We asked him to help us find out what could be responsible. So, he brought a team of medical doctors from Ibadan. In the course of their work, they discovered while engaging the local women when their husbands were not around that it was the men who belonged to the cult in their communities that usually poisoned the kids with a particular root. They soak the root in water for some days and then feed the babies with the potion and they will start drying up. That is what happened to Olufunmilayo; she was eating normally and taking her medications but she kept drying up until she died. Till date, we are still trying to find out what root they use.”
Village head’s kids
After five years of work in the area, the couple had two children in their care from the Tumbudu axis, who are grandchildren of the village head. They would have been killed when their mother died but for the intervention of a missionary whose name is Grace. At the time she rescued the children, she was single. So, when she was getting married, some of the villagers, who were happy their pastor was wedding, attended in Gwagwalada. When they visited us, she pointed out one of them and said, ‘that is your village head’s grandson that you called evil child and wanted to kill.’
When they got back and informed the man that his grandson was alive and doing very well, he was shocked and came visiting. He said: “I was informed he is still very much alive”. He was convinced then that the boy was not an evil child, only that he inherited a culture that sees such children as taboo. He was really happy to see his grandson.
“He brought us guinea corn, roasted fish and promised that he would ensure no other such child is killed in his village. He assured us of his assistance to rescue them and also to influence other village heads in the area to join the crusade.
“So, after that visit, it was like a floodgate was opened. We started getting rescued babies from even areas we had no missionaries and from villages I never heard of before, such as Dagiri. It was the collaboration that started working.”
Assistance
They don’t call the place the rescued kids are kept an orphanage but a home because they take them as their own children. “The children all call me daddy and my wife, they call mummy. We eat together, play together and we even watched the final match between Nigeria and Burkina Faso in the African Cup of Nations together. There are days we go out to eateries together. There is one of them that was born on May 27. When we visit such places on celebration days, people ask if we have a school and when I say they are all my children, they usually express surprise. There was one lady, who saw us the first time we went to Mr. Biggs to eat and she was curious and after hearing our story, she has been coming with her friends, bringing things to us. Some of them come here to celebrate their birthday. Churches have been coming here also to be of help to us. In fact, the bus we use was donated by a lady that works with the NNPC. She had come visiting and saw my old BMW with which I took the children to school. So, she decided to support us with a coaster bus. At a time, the place we were wasn’t enough to accommodate us, a former Redeemed Christian Church provincial pastor offered to build a mini-dormitory for us.”
After the rescue of the last set of twins, their father, a Muslim, came from Bassa, four days before Abuja Metro visit. He expressed shock at what the couple and their mission do for their people free. Today, he has relocated to the place the missionary rescued his children to also assist and he has given his life to Jesus Christ. “Our intervention has helped them to come to the knowledge of our saviour. When they visit, I ask them to pick their children and take photos,” Stevens assured
Returned kids
The home has even returned three children to their relatives, who have been established as strong Christians and are willing to take them. They still monitor their progress there. “We heard one of them later died but it was through natural causes. We pray together and share the Bible every morning. To the glory of God, I don’t deny them anything. My wife and I have only one child of our own but you will not tell the difference. I am a domestic man so, there is no stress, taking care of them. Right now, my wife is on her PhD programme and I am right here taking care of them with the help of the nannies. They are doing very well in school and very intelligent kids.”
Kind support
The school they attend with the kind support of the owner does not charge them fees. They just pay the other smaller charges involved. In fact, he will be the first to ask if they have another child that is ready for school. The oldest is Aisha, who is 16. Some of their parents are now working as local pastors and as the children grow they intend to hand them over to them.
“Our organisation operates by faith. We rely on donations and we do some agricultural activities, raise chicken for sale and I sell Christian books, tapes, videos. These help us financially as well, especially in cases of emergency. During holidays, some of the children, living with us because their parents are unable to send them to school, go back to their parents to assist in farm work.”
The accommodation the mission plans to move into was built at a cost of N17.5 million. The fund came from the same woman that donated the bus, the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), individuals and some other organisations.
The former speaker of Kwali Area Council once visited them. He has a nephew, Bengy, that is also with the home. He (the speaker) was privileged to be taken away from the village by a Hausa trader to Minna as a young boy where he schooled and even did his university education. The sister died after giving birth to Bengy. The Home calls Bengy the PRO because of his seamless interaction with people. “He would have been the first to welcome Abuja Metro and start a conversation, as if you have known for years,” Stevens explained.
Needs health facility
When the former speaker visited while still in office, he was very impressed with what the mission had done and they had requested for a health centre, which they said would reduce the child and maternal death rate. Majority of the rescued children come from dead nursing mothers. “So, if we had good health facility it would be reduced but sadly, he did not return to the area council. So, we are still in need of that.”
“I requested recently from my headquarters for a medical doctor and a nurse because we want to start a health facility so we can reach out to other villages. We are going to have an outreach soon and our first training will be for traditional birth attendants (TBAs) We want to teach them signs they can quickly notice on a mother or child to notify us on time so we can assist to save the lives of these mothers.
“At times, we are asked why government has not intervened but I don’t have an answer to that. Some government officials have been here. All I can tell you is that a greater government sent me on this assignment and I cannot afford to fail.”

Boko Haram in Lagos: We’ll defend Yoruba Land - OPC
The National coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams, has warned members of Boko Harm group to steer clear of Yoruba land in the interest of peace, unity and stability of the
country.
Speaking in an interview with Sunday Sun after the Thursday's arrest of some terror suspects believed to be members of Boko Haram insurgency in Lagos State, Adam said his group would defend Yoruba land against any aggression with their last drop of blood.
His words, "We never thought that Boko Haram would ever think of coming to Yoruba land. We condemned what happened on Thursday out rightly and we are sending a warning signal to them that any attempt to bomb or destroy any part of Yoruba land will be met with severe resistance. Any group of person who attempts to attack Yoruba land will meet their waterloo. As an organization, we are prepared to defend Yoruba land with everything we have, including the last drop of blood in our veins. We will defend Yoruba land both physically and spiritually."
He further expressed the willingness of the OPC to cooperate with security operatives in their efforts to ensure peace and safety of persons in the Southwest and Nigeria as a whole.
"We are ready to co-operate with any security agent working to restore peace and tranquility in Yoruba land. Yoruba is not known for religious fanaticism. As a people, we believe that the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria allows for freedom of religion. Whether you are a Christian, Muslim or traditional worshiper, everybody should be free to practice what he or she believes in. We are sending a warning signal to the hierarchy of Boko Haram or Ansaru that they should not try what they are doing in the North in Yoruba land," he added.
Adams said though none of the Southwest governors had approached him on the best possible strategy to adopt to safeguard the region, he assured that Yoruba would not be caught unaware in case of any eventuality.
"I can't count the number of calls I have received from well meaning Yoruba leaders between the incident of Thursdays and today. In my own opinion, Yoruba are prepared for any eventuality. Some of our Obas have called me; some other important personalities have also called me. Yoruba will not be caught unaware. I don't know about the people in authority especially the governors and members of the state Houses of Assembly because I have never heard from them. No governor in Yoruba land has called me for us to sit down and map out strategies. All the same, we will contribute our own quota to ensure that Yoruba land is safe. From all indications, we are prepared for any eventuality," he maintained.
Similarly, Senate Minority Whip, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, representing Lagos West Senatorial District, also commended the security operatives for their proactive measure which led to the unraveling of the terror suspects before they could carry out their planned bombing.
He said, "The security operatives need to be commended for the arrest of these terror suspects. It would have been terrible if they were able to carry out their planned bombing, but the security operatives were able to foil their planned attack."
Urging the security agencies to be ahead of the terrorists, he added, "They (security operatives) need to ensure that they are several steps ahead of terror in Lagos. That this happened in Lagos calls for concern. There is a reason for everybody to be worried because Lagosians are not known for terrorism. Lagos is not known for terror of any kind. Lagos is a community where communal life is a way of life. People living together know one another."
Solomon also advised residents of Lagos to be more vigilant and report any suspicious movement to the law enforcement agencies. "We need to pay more attention to our environment and live with a higher sense of vigilance. We should not take anything for granted. We need to be more vigilant and support efforts of security agencies", he enjoined.
But a former Publicity Secretary of the Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, cautioned against creating unnecessary panic in the polity, saying "we only need to be more vigilant and conscious of movement around our environment."
Odumakin warned that Yoruba would not succumb to any intimidation under whatever guise. "It is clear that all is not well in the country. Yoruba have no issue with anybody. We suspect that fifth columnists who want to instigate fear in Yoruba land are the one behind this thing. But Yoruba will not be vulnerable to any attack where ever it is coming from."

FG restates plan to withdraw petrol subsidy
For the second time in 24 hours, the federal government has reiterated its plan to deregulate the downstream oil sector despite the huge outcry that necessitated its suspension last year when it withdrew the subsidy on petrol.
Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, who briefed State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday, said that the issue was its first major challenge last year but the president had to put it on hold because of the many calls that were made on him not to implement the policy.
Maku's statement came on the heels of a similar statement made by the president during The Economist magazine's 2013 Nigeria Summit held in Lagos on Tuesday.
At the summit, Jonathan had said the federal government was still planning to fully deregulate the petroleum downstream sector, but only after holding consultations with Nigerians on how to go about the implementation of the policy.
He said: "We cannot continue to waste resources meant for a greater number of Nigerians to subsidise the affluent middle class, who are the main beneficiaries."
The federal government on January 1 2012, had deregulated the price of petrol, but the policy was resisted by the generality of the public culminating in a week-long strike, which forced the government to reverse the policy on full deregulation of the downstream oil sector.
Since the incident, the official price of petrol has been fixed at N97.00 per litre while that of kerosene was pegged at N50.00 per litre.
According to Maku, despite the criticism of the policy by some Nigerians, the overwhelming majority are now satisfied that its implementation is crucial to the scaling up of the oil and gas sector so as to curtail corruption and develop the nation.
He lamented that the federal government was currently losing a lot of money to the payment of subsidy, while Nigerians continue to suffer from lack of infrastructure and paying extra to avail themselves of services from the oil and gas sector.
"Without deregulation," Maku insisted, "there will be no deregulated downstream sector. Currently the government is losing, the people are losing, because we cannot generate jobs.
"The potential that the oil and gas sector could have unleashed on the country is completely truncated. But the effort is continuous, as the government will not relent on its effort to convince Nigerians so as to reverse the trend of Nigerians suffering as a result of the subsidy on fuel."
On the spate of insecurity occasioned by the activities of the Islamist insurgent sect, Boko Haram, the minister said his ministry has done a lot to create awareness among Nigerians.
He explained that following a meeting of the National Security Council last year, a template on security awareness was been embarked upon by all states.
"The overall objective of terrorism is to bring down government and scare Nigerians. The agenda of the group is anti-Islamic. People everywhere in the North are suffering.
"But our efforts have shown Nigerians the impact of terror on the northern economy. That has exposed terror for what it is today and most stakeholders in the North are joining the debate," he stated.
He added: "Today, Christians and Muslims are not fighting as government has de-escalated terrorism.
Most of the fight against terror, particularly in Kano, involves people of the community.
"The ministry also did a little campaign in the communities between Dadin Kowa and Bokkos in Plateau State. Now both Christians and Muslims are working against elements of terror."
Speaking on the National Good Governance Tour, Maku noted that it was a huge success, saying no single state has rejected it.
"The ministry went round to Abuja, Niger, Plateau, Nassarawa, Benue and other states. What is crucial is that the tour has generated competition among states.
"This heavy competition is promoting development within states and even within ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs)," he stated.
Another feature of the post-FEC briefing yesterday was the stewardship given by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on its programmes in 2012.
The minister, Ms. Ama Pepple, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Muhammad Mahe; Director of Architectural Services in the ministry, Mr. Sani Gidado; and the Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Mr. Terver Gemade, highlighted some of the ministry's achievements, including the delivery of 8,069 houses in 2012.
According to Mahe, under the ministry's prototype housing scheme, 256 houses were built in three cities.
He said the ministry also entered into partnership with private companies to build houses in Taraba, Gombe, Kano and other states, just as more houses were built and sold through banks and the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).
"The ministry has created a PPP unit to work in partnership with the private sector to deliver houses to the people while 720,228 jobs were created in the housing sector with the aim of making housing availability more efficient," Mahe said.
He also listed the major problem being faced by the ministry as land procurement, observing that approximately N2 billion was needed last year for that purpose, but the appropriation in the budget for the purpose was slightly above N100 million. "We hope that there will be an improvement this year," he noted.
Other problems he listed were poverty, shortage of houses and proliferation of slums that needed to be upgraded, implementation of the Land Use Act and multiple charges levied on prospective land owners in the process of acquiring title deeds like Certificates of Occupancy (C of O).

IAM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE,MY OTHER COLLEAGUES DIED -BOMB BLAST VICTIM
As the smoke cleared from the New Road Luxury Bus Motor Park, in Sabon
Gari Kano, victims of the terror attack, who were lucky to be alive to
tell their stories, on Tuesday recalled moments before the bomb went
off.
Most of the injured victims are currently receiving medical attention at the Murtala Mohammed Memorial Hospital, Kano.
One of the victims, Mr. Emmanuel Bassey, 37, who works at the Luxury bus park as a park attendant attached to Ezewanta Transport, said he was hurt but lucky and happy to be alive.
In a telephone interview with our correspondent, (before hospital staff ended the encounter), he was full of gratitude to God for sparing his life.
According to him, he and several of his colleagues were going about their normal duties of attracting passengers to board buses for a commission when a small car with two occupants came into the park.
“I rushed to them faster than most of my colleagues. I went and asked them where they were going and one of them said they had yet to decide and that when they decided they would let me know. I left them and went away.
“But four of my other colleagues rushed to the car when they saw that I did not succeed.
“As they approached the vehicle, the driver sped off and headed towards some of the parked buses. Almost immediately, I heard a deafening sound! Then a thick black smoke and fire; there was confusion everywhere. I thank God I am lucky to be alive, my other colleagues died.”
He was not alone, Magawa Goje, 45, a retailer of dried beef, popularly called Kilishi, also counted himself lucky.
Goge said, “I sell Kilishi (dried beef) at the Sabon Gari Luxury bus park. I was busy selling my Kilishi to people who are getting on the bus when I heard a loud band and felt a sharp pain on my chin. That is all I can remember before I woke up on this bed. I heard people saying Boko Haram did this. Whoever did this will rot in the hottest part of hell. Allah will surely judge them.”
Meanwhile, traders in and around the park have relocated into other areas of Sabon Gari as rumours of reprisals continued to fill the air. Security has also been beefed up around places of worship.

Kano death toll rises to 75
Police authorities in Kano State and some security sources on Tuesday gave different figures as casualties of the Monday suicide bomb blasts at an inter-state commercial bus park in Sabon-Gari, Kano.
While the security sources, who were among those taking a tally of the victims, said the death toll had risen from 30 to about 75, the Kano State Police Command gave a much lower number of 22.
The blasts, which injured scores of passengers, drivers, hawkers and visitors, also destroyed five Marco polo luxury buses. A Marco polo bus belonging to Gobison Motors had on board over 70 passengers when it was attacked by the suicide bombers as it was about departing the ever-busy park for Lagos.
One of the security sources, who did not give his name because he was not permitted to do so, told news correspondent that the death toll was high because the luxury buses were parked close to one another since they were to move in convoy.
“The luxury buses always travel in convoy for security reasons and this was why the casualty figure was high. They were parked close to one another. Most passengers in the first bus which might have had at least 70 passengers, including those that were given seats called ‘attachment’, died,” he said.
The officer explained that each of the buses had about 75 or more passengers.
“One of the suicide bombers must have timed the attack because he drove into the park and attacked the first bus when the five buses were filled up and were about to drive out in convoy to Lagos and that was why he (bomber) achieved a heavy casualty rate,” he said.
But the Kano State Police Command which put the casualty at 22, said that 65 persons, mostly passengers were injured.
The Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Musa Daura, told journalists in Kano that the attack was executed by two suicide bombers, who rammed their vehicle against one of the luxury buses.
He said, “Two suicide bombers drove a blue Volkswagen Golf into the luxurious bus motor park along New Road, Sabon Gari. They attacked and hit a loaded bus belonging to Gobison Motors which was taking off to Lagos and sparked off a serious explosion,’’
He said this caused the bus to burst into flames which affected passengers, hawkers, traders and workers at the park.
Daura confirmed that five buses were burnt during the incident, adding that, ‘‘fire- fighters immediately raced to the scene and the flames were put under control after which the whole area was cordoned off.’’
The police commissioner said those who survived the attack were currently receiving medical attention in hospitals in the city, while many corpses were deposited in the morgue.
He urged residents of the troubled city to remain calm and go about their normal business, adding that security agencies were committed to the protection of lives and property.
Daura also confirmed the killing of a policewoman by suspected gunmen on Tuesday morning.
He said the victim, who was attached to Zone 1, Headquarters of the police, was attacked while replacing the flat tyre of her car.
Residents of new bus station in Sabon Gari on Monday night deserted the streets to avoid arrest by security personnel who took over the motor park area and surrounding streets shortly after the incident.
Findings showed that some of the residents even left their homes after the blasts which shook the buildings in the area to their foundations.
Intercity drivers and commercial bus operators also left the park with their vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, has described the blasts as “callous , unwarranted and wicked.”
Moro, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, George Udoh , said he was pained when he heard the news of the killing of innocent Nigerians by persons suspected to be Boko Haram members.
The minister “reiterated the need for prominent Nigerians, student union , civil society and religious groups as well as traditional institutions and professional bodies to voice out their resentment against the evil being perpetrated by members of the inglorious sect on the nation.
While condoling with the families of the blast victims, and the government and people of Kano State, the minister promised that the Federal Government would smoke out the perpetrators and expose their sponsors.
Also, the leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, warned that Ndigbo would be forced to defend themselves from the killings in various parts of the North.
He added that the Igbo had been pushed to the wall by the Boko Haram, adding that the people would have no option but to defend themselves.
Uwazuruike said, “The killings and other senseless activities against Ndigbo must not continue . I know that it was this type of massacre that brought about the first civil war in Nigeria; I am disappointed in our people, when they were being slaughtered, I brought out buses to bring them back home, but they chose to remain in the North.
“What I did was to safeguard their lives. But I want to advise President Goodluck Jonathan that there is a limit to everything. Ndigbo can no longer continue to allow themselves to be senselessly killed in the North. I must warn that Ndigbo are not cowards; they will react if pushed to the wall.
(Sighs) which way my beloved country-Nigeria.
Borno Govt donates N2m to families of slain teachers
The Borno Government on Tuesday announced a cash donation of N2 million each to the families of the five public school teachers shot dead on Monday by unknown gunmen. Gov. Kashim Shettima made the
announcement when he visited Government Secondary School, Mafoni, one of the affected schools in Maiduguri.
Shettima also promised a N200,000 donation to each of the five teachers who suffered injuries during the attack.
He said the gesture was not meant to compensate for lives of those killed rather a token assistance by the government to cushion the effect of the attacks on the injured victims and the families of the slain.
Shettima also said that government would offset the medical bills of those injured while those critically-injured would be evacuated abroad for better care.
He assured that despite the situation, government would not relent in its efforts to provide sound education for the citizens.
The governor added that the incident would not discourage government from realising its target of ensuring qualitative education to the people.
Earlier, the Principal of the school, Malam Babagana Ali, said the attack was carried out by a group of three men, armed with rifles.
''They stormed the school and fired several shots at the direction of two female teachers.''
He said two teachers died on the spot while the assailants fled the scene before the arrival of the Joint Task Force (JTF).
Other schools affected include Sanda Kyarimi Secondary School and Government Secondary School, Galadima.

Alamieyeseigha's pardon; Bill Gate cancels visit to Nigeria
United States richest man and philanthropist, Bill Gates, has cancelled his planned official visit to Nigeria scheduled for March 27.
Gates’ action, it was believed was part of an unfolding diplomatic row between the US and Nigeria following the controversial pardon granted by President Goodluck Jonathan to ex-convicts Diepreye Alamieyeseigha and Shettima Bulama.
He was scheduled to meet President Goodluck Jonathan, state governors and officials of the Federal Ministry of Health on the polio eradication campaign of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Diplomatic sources said the trip was cancelled, two days after the US government expressed disappointment with the Federal Government for pardoning convicted money launderers.
Gates was reported to have already instructed his staff to inform the Nigerian Presidency, the secretariat of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and the Federal Ministry of Health that he was no longer coming.
“The State Department has advised him that Nigeria is not conducive for such visit at this time,” a source said. “We hope that the Nigerian government will get the message and return to the path of sanity.”
The controversial pardon granted Messrs Alamieyeseigha and Bulama had on Friday sparked fierce diplomatic row between Nigeria and the United States, with the Americans threatening to punish Nigeria over Jonathan’s action and Nigeria accusing the Americans of meddlesomeness.
“We see this as a setback for the fight against corruption, and also for our ability to play the strong role we’ve played in supporting the rule of law and legal institution-building in Nigeria, which is very important for the future of the country obviously,” State Department spokesperson, Victoria Nuland, had told reporters in Washington.
Gate is the biggest foreign supporter of the campaign to eradicate polio in Nigeria and has worked consistently with the Nigerian authorities since 2009 over the matter.
His foundation has developed a six-year strategy through 2018 that will help combat polio in Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan and has set aside $1bn per annum for the purpose.
He had scheduled this March’s visit to consolidate on that alliance, meet with Jonathan, state governors and other stakeholders with a view to generally revving up the war against the pandemic.
Director General of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Mr. Asishana Okauru, said on Monday that the visit had been rescheduled.
He said, “As far as we are concerned, the visit has been rescheduled. But I cannot say when that would be. It would be make known as soon as we get a new date.”
Also, the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyewuchi Chukwu, said, “I am not privy to Mr. Gate’s itinerary”
Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ogbole Ahmedu-Ode said he was not aware of the visit.
Meanwhile, a civil society organisation, Anti-Corruption Network, on Monday reacted to the cancellation of Gates’ proposed visit to Nigeria.
The Founder/Executive Secretary of the ACN and former member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dino Melaye, in an interview with The PUNCH said the President should “realise that he is President of Nigeria and not the Ijaw nation.”
Melaye said, “This is a demonstration of a failed government, the world is now a global village. Therefore, no country can hide under the cover of non-interference on domestic matters to perpetrate the evil of corruption. This again have exposed the myopic, porous and parochial advisers of Mr. President. By this unpardonable pardon, the President has finally announced his romance, marriage and union with corruption.”
Chairman of Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, Mr. Debo Adeniran, also said it was an indication that Nigeria was a failing state.
He said, “This is an indication that Nigeria is a failed state. Granting amnesty to a criminal, who jumped bail and declared wanted in saner clime, mocks our sensibility as Nigerians and is also a slap on the nation where the accused is standing trial.”
Meanwhile, the Presidency on Monday said it was not true that the planned visit of Gate to Nigeria was cancelled because of the US opposition to Alamieyeseigha’s pardon.
Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, said this in an interview with State House correspondents.
Abati said contrary to the reports, his interaction with the Bill and Melinda Foundation showed that the planned visit was put off because of the inavailability of some partners.
Abati said, “The foundation said that Mr. Bill Gates’ travels are often dependent on the schedules and availability of many other people and partners and that in this particular case, because these other people and partners will not be available at the time he is presently scheduled to visit Nigeria, they have to reschedule the visit.”
Well let's hope and pray that Gates would still come to Nigeria.

its the little things...............
SON: "Daddy, may I ask you a question?"
DAD: "Yeah sure, what is it?"
SON: "Daddy, how much do you make an hour?"
DAD: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?"
SON: "I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?"
DAD: "If you must know, I make $100 an hour."
SON: "Oh! (With his head down).
SON: "Daddy, may I please borrow $50?"
The father was furious.
DAD: "If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior."
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think:
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $ 50 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
DAD: "Are you asleep, son?"
SON: "No daddy, I'm awake".
DAD: "I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier. It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $50 you asked for."
The little boy sat straight up, smiling.
SON: "Oh, thank you daddy!"
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
DAD: "Why do you want more money if you already have some?"
SON: "Because I didn't have enough, but now I do.
"Daddy, I have $100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness. It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $100 worth of your time with someone you love? If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family and friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.
Some things are more important.
DAD: "Yeah sure, what is it?"
SON: "Daddy, how much do you make an hour?"
DAD: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?"

Ten worst Jobs in Nigeria
Every morning in Nigeria, millions of people wake up and prepare to go to work. Most do not go to work because they love their jobs but because they have no other option. It is no longer news that most people dislike their current jobs.
We came across a funny list of the worst jobs and have modified, it with insights and research, to come up with this list of 9 worst jobs one can have right now in Nigeria
This list doesn’t mean we downgrade or look down on people who do honest, hardwork like the street cleaners etc. This is a list of jobs that most people, if given an option, will pass over. If you are currently in any of these jobs you have our empathy.
9. Bus Conductor
There’s the long working hours. There’s the life threatening occupation of hanging half-outside a speeding bus while keeping an eye out for passengers. There’s the smoke and the people you have to deal with everyday.
But the worst -ultimate worst- part of being a bus conductor is having to shout out the unpronounceable names of bus stop names while mentally calculating how much change you owe the guy in the distracting pink shirt. It easily combines our two worst activities: Shouting unpronounceable bus stop names and mathematics.
That’s why they sweat so much. You would too, if your entire day consisted of shouting such destinations as:
Oshodioshodioshodiosh
OjuelegbaOnipanPangrooo.
And then solving maths while doing all that. It ain’t easy, we assure you
8. PHCN Electrician/Technician
First of all, working for PHCN is already considered not cool by the general populace. There was this guy in Secondary school whose dad worked for The Authorities, and every time the lights went off, we’d all look at him and shake our heads.
So not only is working for PHCN not cool, but being the Electrician/Pole Guy who has to go around cutting people’s power lines just has to suck in the worst way. You’re like the bad news guy the Army sends to tell families they’ve lost someone in battle. Only imaging if it’s an army that’s already generally hated by the populace.
It’s up to you to ride in that van with the ladder, get to someone’s house, climb up the pole, disconnect the power, look down, see the crowd of angry faces waiting for you at the bottom, and decide whether descending the ladder is the best option for your general health and longevity.
7. Traffic Control Officials (eg LASTMA)
Everybody’ in Lagos knows who the LASTMA are. Nobody likes them. There job description consists mostly of stopping you when you desperately need to be somewhere important and having the most dull drawn out conversations. You’ll never hear a conversation like: “Oh, there are the LASTMA. Let’s go hang out with them.”
Or “Hey, let’s get them some drinks shall we?”
Never.
You just know you’re in the wrong line of work if the mere sight of you causes 20,000 people to start saying mean things about your uncle’s father’s friend in the village whom they’ve never even met before.
Plus you are always at the risk of being hit by an angry driver who is hellbent on not getting caught by you.
6. Banker
Okay, some may not quite agree with including this on the list. To everybody who wants to be a banker: Undeceive yourselves. Do yourselves a favor and change your future ambitions as soon as possible. It is a trap. Banking jobs are sort of like babies. You see them all cute and cuddly and you’re like, “Awww, I’d really like to have one of my own.”. Then you decide to have one of you’re own and one day you’re up by 3 a.m changing diapers and you realize that somebody, somewhere, engaged in a bit of false advertising.
Bankers have it the worst. Their working hours are horrible. The Tellers sit behind counters all day counting money (other people’s money for that matter) and dealing with the most obnoxious customers (to be honest, we ourselves have been the obnoxious customer many a time). Then you stay back after work closes and balance accounts. And if you make some small computing error, you can’t leave until you sort that out. And then they’re targets and goals and deadlines and stuff and about 100 million fresh eager graduates out of school just waiting to take your job.
Next time you go into a bank, show a little compassion will you? Those people have it hard. There was this guy behind the counter where I formerly used to bank, and every time I went there, his face was a cry for help. It was like dud, get me out of here.
You do not want to be a banker. Especially not in Lagos. Trust me.
5. Internet Cafe Owner
Remember 2001? Internet Cafe Owners had it good that year, didn’t they? Nobody understood what the internet was really about and we were all easy prey. We’d spend 1 hour waiting for an available system, hoping the guy with 12 minutes remaining wasn’t going to purchase more time. Then you’d pay some ridiculous amount for your one hour ticket. You’d sit there in front of your system for 30 minutes waiting for Yahoo Messenger to finish loading. And at the end of it, you’d look at the owner and say Thank You Sir, For Letting Me Use Your Internet Facilities.
Now if you’re an internet cafe owner, it may be beginning to dawn on you that maybe, just maybe, you’re in the wrong line of business. Maybe it’s those empty seats. Maybe it’s the drastic reduction in cashflow. Maybe it’s just how people don’t really need you anymore. Maybe it’s how people don’t even bother to accuse you of harboring Yahoo guys.
Everybody’s got a laptop now. And those who don’t have smart phones. And guess what, they can access the internet too.
Internet cafes have gone from this:
4. Plumber
Quite possibly, and this is just an assumption made after a few months of casual observation, Lagos has the worst drainage system in the world. There are literally hundreds of thousands of houses in Lagos. This translates to millions of toilets flushing at any point on time. Most cities in Nigeria as well do not have even fairly decent drainage systems
We don’t want to dwell on this too much, but imagine for a moment the nasty surprises that await the Plumber. Imaging the sort of surprises that get mixed up in the convoluted network that runs beneath the city.
You’d turn up to fix a blocked pipe in Festac, and before you know it, you’re unclogging bottles from Alausa, pure water packs from Fadeyi and perhaps a Yatch or two from Ikoyi!
3. Gateman
There’s nothing wrong about holding doors open for people. Gates on the other hand, are a problem.
It would drive me crazy, repeating that simple process of walking to a car, looking at the occupants as if they were all under suspicion, walking to the gate, dragging it open, dragging it shut, and then waiting for when the people who just drove in minutes ago, want to leave. Then the other 90% of the time, you’re sitting out there in the sun doing absolutely nothing.
2. Chauffeur
People always complain about the Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and so on traffic. The only people who don’t are Drivers. Why? They’ve seen it all. All sorts of traffic. The short ones. The long ones. The ones that end at the next red Light, and the ones that end in another state. They’ve spent hours on 3rd Mainland enjoying the view. They’ve understood the inner workings of that Iyana Ipaja. They have a fond relationship with Ibadan Expressway.
I’m not talking about cab drivers, who spend a lot of time coasting around eyeballing pedestrians and dreaming up impossible price fares. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been a driver can adequately appreciate how much misery the job must entail.
1. NSCDC Lagos Commandant
Man! This is a major contender for the worst job in Nigeria. You know Mr Shem of course. And if you don’t you need to watch this.
Let’s just put it this way, there’s no man in town who is the brunt of as many jokes as this poor fellow.
First came the memes
And merchandise.
And a remix.
And a skank
And next maybe a Harlem Shake!!

I was haunted by indian hair-- Rachel Edjeren
I don't care if you are selling indian hair, peruvian hair or latin hair, please read this very well and understand the spiritual implication..many of you are actually being haunted by many problems but you dont know that the source of your problems lies on the hair you carry around...all those ladies walking around like mammy water with indian hair please beware...beware...I actually got goose pimples reading this.
Read Rachels story.
Rachel Edjeren is the MD/CEO of Rayzeds Media. She is a Producer, Presenter, Events & Celebrity Red Carpet Host, Public Relations (PR) Personnel/Consultant and an actress. She is the producer of the popular TV magazines 'TRENDS & RACHEL' and 'YANAYIN ZAMANI da RACHEL'.she is based in Abuja.
''My sister inlaw came to pray with me last two years. She said she was experiencing ill luck during the week. So many nasty things happening to her.
I prayed wit her and the Spirit led me to ask her what hair she had on, she said indian. I was led to tell her to remove it and not give out but pray and burn it. She obeyed and things went back to normal. Sometime after that, my hubby and i watched a documentary on how ladies in India sacrifice their hair to the gods if they have nothing else worthy to sacrifice.
My husband likes human hair. So even though I like my full dreadlocks kind of hairstyles, I give him what he likes most times. I have done brazilian and Peruvian hair so thought to try something different and more natural which is Indian hair.
Last weekend I ordered for it and made it. Prayed on it and believed it was fine.
Yesterday night (march 14,2013)I had the strangest of dreams. I saw that I made a hair that allowed me to pack it thus project my face and make it look slimmer. All of a sudden, I got into a scuffle wit 3 people who began to chase me all over the place to kill me. I got off from them narrowly and ran into a market. There, a mad man began to chase me.
I escaped him narrowly then 2 rapist-thugs came after me. All the while, I felt I was carrying someone else's face.
I ran into a house with people praying. The lady in charge there looked at me and showed me a picture of my self with my regular synthetic dread-like hair and said "but that is ur regular look, why are you carrying someone elses face. Then from no where another lovely lady came from outside, drew me to the corner and began to ask me about my look. She said "you are having problems with your hair right?" Whilst she was talking, I noticed something in her mouth; a bowl of cowries and the face of a Benin god,i looked closer and asked her what it was and why she had it.
She said her man likes her because of that decor in her mouth---cowries and the face of a god like a shrine in one's mouth?
she also said that she is comfortable and that it's beautiful.
I woke up and prayed and immediately understood what the message was but didn't want to let go of my cute human hair that cost so much.
I decided to ask my husband because he interpretes dreams accurately.
He immediately told me to remove the hair. At the same time, the Spirit told me to cut it off and not remove it gracefully bevause it tried to bring me shame and pain.
Cut it off, anoint your head, anoint and pray on the hair to refute all ill and do not just throw it away but BURN IT. I obeyed.
I have decided to only carry my natural hair or synthetic hair.
This is because the Bible says; "The hair is the woman's crowning glory". Carrying another's is like carrying the other person's spirit. The worst is even Indian. Nothing wrong with Indians; They are beautiful and we love them especially in Films but those hairs sold are sacrifices to gods. Thus, they are cursed.
There are loads of other human-looking hair made with synthetic in the market if you want that look or if you insist on wearing real human hair, try those from other Countries but pray on them and be ready to bear any consequence''.
My people una don hear? Rachel was lucky, not everyone is!!!

I Rejected Pope Francis’ Marriage Proposal - Pope's Ex Gf Amalia
The new Pope’s childhood sweetheart revealed yesterday that she had rejected the pope’s marriage proposal.
Amalia Damonte, 76, the 'ex-girlfriend' of the newly elected pope, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who grew up in the same neighourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, south America, with the pope, claimed that Pope Francis asked her hand in marriage before he was ordained as a priest in 1969.
“I froze in front of the television. I couldn’t believe that Jorge was the Pope!” she said.
“He had a crush on me, you know. We used to play on the streets here. It was a quiet neighbourhood then, and, well, he was very nice. He said that if I didn’t say yes, he would have to become a priest. Luckily for him, I said no!” said Ms Damonte, who stills lives four doors up from the pope ‘s childhood home.
The now white-haired pensioner revealed that it was either in 1948 or 1949 when the future Pope, then aged 12, wrote her a letter declaring he would like to marry her but she rejected his marriage proposal.
She says she spurned Jorge Bergoglio when he popped the question because her parents did not think that much of him.
Pope Francis, who became the 266th pope of the Catholic Church on 13 March, decided to take religious orders in 1958 when he was 21 but he was ordained by Archbishop Ramón José Castellano in 1969 when he finished his theological studies .
Bergoglio, who chose the papal name Francisco in honour of Saint Francis of Assisi, is the first Jesuit pope, the first from the Americas, and the first from the Southern Hemisphere.
Francis is the first pope born outside Europe in 1,272 years, since Syrian-born St. Gregory.

Group condemns B/Haram’s plan to shoot down Jonathan’s plane
WARRI- IJAW Peoples Development Initiative, IPDI, Thursday , criticized the attempt by suspected Islamic fundamentalist group, Boko Haram, to shoot down the plane of President Goodluck Jonathan during his two-day visit to Borno State, last week.
The group in a statement by the chairman of the its Board of Trustees, Mr. Cletus Itari, said the attempt called for concern in view of the raging demand for total amnesty for the sect by the Sultan of Sokoko despite the unprecedented killings and destruction carried out by the terrorist organization.
Its words, “It is undemocratic for the north to have planned Jonathan’s death and wants every meaningful person in the country to bemoan the foiled attack. The life of President Jonathan is very precious to Nigerians and Niger-Deltans and people should realize that such a wicked plan, if it had succeeded, could truncate the peaceful co-existence of Nigeria.”
IPDI also lambasted the Sultan of Sokoto for his “reckless representation of a terrorist ghost group”, adding, “He should resign from his ruler ship as Sultan of Sokoto and take up a job with the Boko Haram sect.”
According to the statement, “Sultan of Sokoto is playing a double standard game with the Presidency because ince Christians became the prime target of the sect, he had never shown care only to identify himself with a faceless group, we are not surprised as a bird of a feather flew together.”
The group also frowned at the control of 83 per cent of oil blocs by the northern elites, saying, “it is evil and immoral to have been ignoring national character in the sharring of the oil blocs by previous administrations.”
“We call for a revocation of all the oil blocs by the presidency and re-allocation of same with a consideration of the six geo-political zones in the country for the purpose of peace, equity, fair play, and justice in the country,
An inspiring "letter to my daugther at 20" by debbie edwards
My darling, as you turn 20, I wanted to share a few of life’s most important lessons with you. You will have many significant people through your life, and a best friend. You do not need to be intimidated by your best friend, or your boyfriend, mother or job for that matter. Trust those who show you the truth in them. We all need allies in life; but remember the benefit of the doubt is subjective, don’t give it to just anybody.
When fear threatens to cloud you, don’t let it. If fear is what pushes you to do something, make a decision DON’T DO IT, DON’T MAKE IT! If fear is the reason for putting something off, for procrastinating with an important decision, DO IT WITHOUT DELAY.
The success and happiness of your thirties is directly correlated to the decisions you make in your 20’s. People will always feel they know what’s good for you. Take the advice, nod, even mull it over, but in the end, do what YOUR HEART feels is right for YOU.
When faced with a decision, ask yourself three questions; is this the right decision? Is it for the right reasons? Is it the right time? If your answer is YES! YES! YES! You won’t go far wrong in life.
In everything you choose to do, be kind. Kindness is a rare commodity; it puts you and your interests behind that of the next person, not just in grand gestures, but even in the little things. It emanates from the heart, and is felt by those who cannot be fooled by insincerity. A shortcut to morality is the golden rule of life; ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you’ you’ll discover that this really is the start of wisdom and righteousness.
And while we’re on the subject of morality, relationships will NEVER be clear, it isn’t the nature of things. But you can help yourself by doing an exercise; make 3 lists: 1. What you ‘want’ in the man you love 2. What you would ‘like’ in the man you love 3. What you will not tolerate in any man in your life.
And stick to this list…preferably the first list. Standards dictate who we let into our heart, who stays there, and who deserves to be there. The more you compromise with these lists, the longer it will take to find your soulmate.
While looking for him, never covet what another woman has. Let what is meant to be yours, come to you. This habit people have of running in packs isn’t all that healthy either, after all the saying goes ‘relationSHIPS sink when they have too many passengers. You don’t need to let everybody in. And while you’re at it, Jealousy sucks! Try being on the receiving end of it, you’ll understand how damaging it can be to any relationship. Spending a fun weekend with someone is not enough to know if you really like them. You only really get to know people in their reactions when things are not going their way, and over a prolonged period. Further down the line when you think it’s a done deal, it’s still NEVER going to be ok to have sex in your parents house, unless you’re married. Get over it!
There’s never going to come a time when you should stop feeding the child in you. It’s the part of you which will always experience the real beauty of life, afresh, every time. Don’t ever be afraid of your own company. For anyone to love being with you, you must first love being with yourself. Wear your hair EXACTLY as you please. Society will have to get used to it. When you are choosing clothes think about what this will tell people about you when you wear them…and always be true to who you are. Everything on the outside should be a further expression of what is on the inside. Save! Yes, now IS the right time to do so.
There will be rough times, and you must survive your own traumas, but don’t fall victim to your story. Heal. Release. Move on. Thrive! It’s your motivation which will dictate the results of ANY action.
Always try to come from a good place. It will show. My darling you’ll never stop learning, and, while education is a leveler, LIFE is the best teacher. Best case scenario, use both. Reading is a joy! Read! It’s never too late to learn to love books. But if the books you’re reading don’t make you a better person, you’re reading the wrong books. Quality of life is what you give to yourself. Not what your job or your relationship gives you.
Decide what you love to do, and start doing it TODAY!!!!
I want you to pray for me- Pope Francis
The new Argentine pope, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, in his first appearance at the Vatican balcony appealed to Christian faithful to pray for him as he assumes the new task of Christian leadership.
"Before I pray for you, I want you to pray for me", the pope said as he gave his first address in the Vatican balcony in front of a large a large cheering crowd.
Pope Francis, as he has chosen to be called, is the Catholic Church's first non-European pope in hundreds of years—and the first from the Americas. The former archbishop of Buenos Aires, the church's first Jesuit pope, faces the daunting task of healing divisions in the church hierarchy and stemming the loss of worshipers while tending to 1.2 billion faithful.
The new pope brings ample pastoral experience in Argentina to the job, but it is unclear how much influence he has in the Roman Curia, the administrative body of the Vatican. Pope Francis hasn't held a senior position in the Curia.
The 76-year-old pope was elected by 115 cardinals on the second day of voting. The church's 266th pontiff succeeds Pope Benedict XVI, who resigned for health reasons in February.
Wishing the pope all the best.

but recently the peaceful nature of Oke-opo gave way to panic when a human butcherer and parts seller was apprehended by the Police after a tip off by the residents of the area.
below is a photograph of the human part seller and one of the dismembered victim after the cut (Viewer Discretion is strongly advised)

31 REASONS TO KNOW IF YOU ARE READY TO WALK DOWN THE AISLE WITH THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE
The Internet is filled with articles on how to decide when to end it, how to recognize when your relationship is toxic, codependent, one-sided, stagnant, asexual, manipulative. But we don’t talk all that often about what defines a happy relationship. Picture it: You’re dating someone new. You’re waiting to feel the toxic stagnant codependency. Where is it? Months go by. Still nothing. At some point a corner of your brain dares register the thought: Could this be one of those? Could I actually be happy?
To help you answer that question, you lucky thing, here’s a completely unscientific list of 31 ways to know you’re in the right relationship:
YOU DON’T…
1. Fear it.
If you’re afraid of commitment, best to work that out before you put yourself in a situation where it’s hoped you’ll eventually commit.
2. Hide anything more significant than a surprise party from each other.
That includes exes, cheating, debt, STDs, chronic illness, felonies, whether you want a marriage and/or children, genetic abnormalities (if you both want kids), a strong desire to live somewhere else, professional failures and successes, doubts about your s*xual orientation, a strong preference for un-vanilla s*x.
The truth will come out, and if you’re with someone you feel the need to conceal any of this from, he or she probably isn’t right.
3. Snoop.
If no one’s hiding anything, why are you looking? Going through your significant other’s email, phone, Facebook account, or journal strongly indicates that you don’t trust the person you’re with. You’re also violating his or her trust in you.
4. Hide the relationship from other people in your life.
If you’re unwilling to introduce the person you’re dating at appropriate junctures to the most important people in your life, that’s usually a bright, flapping red flag.
In general, if you have a good thing going, you can’t wait for him or her to meet your friends, siblings, parents, the guy at the deli, and you wouldn’t have any qualms about presenting this person to professional acquaintances, people you knew in college, family friends, even your ex.
5. Think you’re superior.
If you feel that your significant other is your inferior in any way you know matters to you in a mate — morally, intellectually, socially, financially or professionally — you’re never going to respect him or her as much as you hope to be respected.
The best relationships make you feel that you’ve convinced a person more exceptional than you to love you.
6. Resent the other person’s success.
Professional jealousy can be as poisonous to a relationship as constantly thinking he or she is flirting with your best friend. It also suggests that you’re spending a lot of time comparing yourself to a person you supposedly adore, rather than sitting back and marveling at how amazing he or she is. In a good relationship, you quit (or refuse to ever engage in) the one-upmanship.
7. Let any substance or behavior come before the relationship.
Any addict or over-user of a substance or behavior is cheating on you with his or her drug of choice. You deserve more.
8. Stew.
When something the other person does annoys you or turns you off, you don’t push it to the back of your mind and hope it will go away, because it won’t. You bring it up in the moment or sometime in the next 24 hours.
9. Damage property, animals, children or each other during an argument.
You think this goes without saying until you read something like this New York Times “Modern Love” and realize that human beings can rationalize staying with someone who leaves holes in their walls.
On the other hand, if you damage a vase or two in the heat of a different kind of passion, totally fine.
10. Challenge each other on personal issues in front of other people.
You know which conversations you shouldn’t be having at brunch with friends.
11. Depend on each other for things no one can or should supply.
If you’re looking to your significant other to resolve your emotional issues, make you more responsible/successful/adult, support you financially, improve your social standing, expand your group of friends, provide you with the family you never had, or make your parents finally accept you, it’s possible you shouldn’t be in a relationship at all, or at least not yet.
12. Begrudge each other time with your respective friends.
You can’t be everything to your significant other, and why would you want to be? Sounds exhausting. Friends enrich your life, will accompany you to do things that your significant other may not enjoy, and keep you from getting tired of the person you’re seeing.
Besides, if the relationship doesn’t work out, those friends going to be the ones coming over to your house, dragging you out of bed and helping you rejoin humanity. Be good to them.
13. Lose Yourself
This is easier said than done, especially when the relationship is going really well. As tempting as it is to never leave the house (maybe never leave the bed), you keep doing the work, exercise, volunteering, socializing, networking, and daughtering you were doing before. Remember, these things made you the person Your Person fell in love with. They’re part of you. Don’t give them up for anyone. You can’t afford it.
14. Have a secret plan B.
If you’re where you need to be, the following thoughts don’t cross your mind: “Maybe he’ll dump me,” or “If my ex moves back from Mongolia, everything could change.”
15. Have much drama.
You know the cliche: The person worth your tears won’t make you cry. Usually.
YOU DO…
16. Put it all on the line.
If you’re not risking having your heart broken, you’re not doing it right.
17. Respect the people he or she is closest to.
You don’t have to love them, but you should think they are honest and moral and have integrity. Want to know you’re with a good person? Look to the people he or she thinks are good people.
18. Inspire each other to be better.
A good relationship is galvanizing, not in the oh-my-god-I-met-this-amazing-person-I’d-better-hurry-up-and-fix-myself sense (thought there’s probably a little of that when you first start seeing anyone amazing) but in the way that knowing someone else believes in you makes you believe in yourself that much more. You want to prove yourself worthy of his or her confidence.
19. Humble yourselves.
You know you can’t hide your flaws for long, so you don’t try. You recognize that this person is going to have to take you as you are, as foolish or charitable (or both) as that may seem to make him or her. You know you’re both going to mess up endless times and have to apologize and be forgiven and forgive. You’ll wonder if one of the bigger mistakes is the one that will end it, and you’ll have to prove to one another that the relationship transcends that. You recognize that you signed up for all of this.
20. Talk about s*x.
Most couples don’t instinctively know all of the ways to please each other. You have to talk about — or at least show — what you want. If you don’t know what you want, you need to figure that out, STAT (step 1? Get thee to Babeland). And after you have talked about it, you do it. Better.
21. Talk about the rest.
The same things you’re not supposed to talk about on a blind date — religion, money, politics, kids — are things you should discuss with someone you’re serious about. What? You just remembered that thing you need to do? Get back here. No one said this was going to be painless. They said it was going to be hard and awesome.
22. Fight.
If you agree on everything, someone’s not telling the truth. See #2 and #8.
23. Have times when you don’t talk.
Not because you’re angry with each other but because you can be quiet together. When you find yourself with silences you don’t need to fill, when you find you can just walk along or lie about or work side by side and feel together without needing to verbally affirm that, you’ve got a good thing going.
24. Have object permanence.
Child psychologist Jean Piaget theorized that when babies get to be 8 or 9 months old, they begin to develop “object permanence,” the idea that an object doesn’t vanish when they can no longer see it.
In a good adult relationship, you know that you can go out into the world and do your thing, and the bond you’ve formed with the person you care about will be there when you get back.
This is also known as trust.
25. Take care of your body.
You know that you won’t enjoy sharing it with someone else if you don’t like, respect, and nurture it. Your partner feels the same way.
26. Divide and conquer.
You’re not identical, thank god, which probably means you have certain strengths and he or she has others. Someone is more organized, someone is more outgoing, someone is a born listener. Someone is better with money, someone is more creative. Someone is more adventurous in bed.
If you each play to your strengths, you in all likelihood remember a gift (possibly an inspired one), your home(s) look(s) great, the bills get paid on time, s*x is endlessly fun, and you leave everyone at the party thoroughly charmed.
27. Remember to look at each other across the room.
There’s nothing more reassuring (or sexier) than glancing up from the interminable conversation with your eighth cousin or the head of operations or the report you can’t seem to finish and locking eyes with Your Person and remembering that by some quantity of luck neither of you may deserve, you found each other.
28. Observe.
You notice when the other person is about to lose it, needs to leave even if you’ve been there only 20 minutes, is talking to someone he or she can’t stand, did something he or she feels guilty about, is silently berating himself or herself, is ruminating over the thing his or her boss said, is about to spend an insane amount of money, and best of all, about to crack up in a situation where he or she shouldn’t. You pay attention because you care, and because that’s the good stuff.
29. Make time.
You realize that if this is it, one of you is going to be around some distant day in the future to lose the other. In that moment, you will not regret not checking your email in this one.
30. Occasionally get over yourself and your cynicism and fear of cliche and do something deeply, unapologetically romantic.
You send the flowers, have the book signed by the author, request the song, write the note, have the damned thing (tastefully) engraved. You call the other person and tell him or her that specific thing he or she did this morning that made you fall that much more in love. When you’re not expecting it, he or she dares to say, even though we all know there are no guarantees ever, “When we’re X age, want to Y?”
31. Just know.
