shops and shanties demolished at Dutse-Alhaji in Abuja

 The Federal Capital Development Authority FCDA, has continue in its demolition exercise, which has been going on now in major satelite towns in the nation's capital, on Monday, shops and shanties at the popular dutse Alhaji area of Abuja were brought down by officials of FCDA.



An eyewitness who witness the exercise confirmed that shops located along the major road in the area were demolished by the authority with bulldozer.

Effort made to speak with the FCDA officials on ground proved abortive as they all declined on making any comment.

Security operative were seen but their presence could not prevent hoodlums and scavengers who made away with items.

Speaking with a shop owner, who simply identify her self as Shade, said "we were given notice for demolition of our shops but, that the date state in the later was 21days which has not elapse"

Shade who sells house hold items was seeing strangling to make sure her items were not lost to hoodlums. However, some of the items have been destroyed.

The exercise also led to heavy traffic along the major Duste road.

Similar demolition exercise had been carried out in Kubwa and Biazhin all suburbs in the federal capital territory.
