A former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Osun state governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Senator Bukola Saraki, former chairman of the PDP, Abubakar Baraje as well as some PDP state governors have officially formed a new PDP faction.
Governors of Sokoto, Kano, Adamawa, Jigawa, Niger, Kwara and Rivers states are the seven governors who have aligned with the new PDP faction.
The group is protesting the actions of the organisers of the ongoing Special National Convention that has seen a majority of the aspirants disqualified, where over 50 of the 75 aspirants loyal to opponents of President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term ambition within the PDP, have been disqualified from vying for the 17 available National Working Committee, NWC, positions of the party.

Ese Walter Writes again
I'm sure by now you all know who Ese Walter is by now, She took to her blog yesterday to write about the aftereffect of her last post, where she accused pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Common Wealth Of Zion Assembly of sexual manipulation. Read below...
"The past week has ‘killed’ me. It has stripped me of whatever ‘self-importance’ I nursed in the corners of my mind. It has broken me and opened me up to my real self. It has brought me to a deeper level of self-awareness, one I am most grateful for.
When I sat with my MacBook to type my last blog, I never imagined it would generate the kind of attention it did and continues to. I have one last thing to say on this issue before I lay it to rest and move on. (I also hope others can move on too, we have too much going on in this Country to continue to peddle one for longer than necessary.)
A very big thank you to everyone that has felt it necessary to talk about this issue and spread it throughout Nigeria and the foreign scene. I read every email sent to me with awe that people would take the time out to reach a total stranger like me. Some were cursing, calling me a witch from the pit of hell sent to destroy the church as though one individual/church is bigger than the body of Christ. As though God is mere man and would cringe in heaven saying, “Ese don did it this time.” Or as if the good Book didn’t state clearly that ALL things work out for good for those that love God.
Do you love God? If yes, trust that it will ALL turn around for good.
Some people say, ‘I support you, you are brave and courageous’ and I wonder if those terms really define me. I do not think I am brave or courageous. I do know, however that after decades of sleepwalking through life, I am now becoming aware not just of myself but also of my environment, my world, and the universe.
Some say, put out the evidence and we will believe you. Hmmm, the morning I sat to write that post, I really didn’t expect anyone to believe me. Well, apart from those involved. And my motive was simple, let one more woman be spared. Let one more minister of the gospel be mindful and let the church rise up to its responsibilities as God’s legal representatives here in the earth realm.
A copy of the ‘evidence’ is with a respected minister of the gospel should the christian body decide to deal with this issue now and that becomes needful. I am not looking to have a ‘me against them’ case where I need to prove I’m right and someone is wrong. I am far from right, but I have used the only means available to me to free myself of the bondage I put myself in.
Lastly, to all the media people seeking interviews and whatever else mailing me, I have nothing more to say on this issue. I cannot reply every email as reading them is beginning to seem like a new job.
I remember asking a friend once while reading the book of Acts, “Why do we no longer operate in the power the disciples did in Jesus day?” What has changed? How do we ‘unchange’ it?
God is not mocked, if we serve Him, let’s serve Him. We cannot continue to grow as a Nation by oppressing, delaying justice, hating, having the ME ME ME mentality. As Martin Luther King Jr said, ‘no one is free until we are all free.’
Things have got to change and it begins with us. It begins with each and every one of us borrowing courage to stand for what we believe in. Fela Durotoye once said, ‘that thing that annoys you most in society is a sign that you carry its solution.’ (I’m
paraphrasing)
Nothing has called out to me more than people, especially women, suffering in some way and hiding the pain. Whatever we cover doesn’t go away. It grows and it finds different outlets to rear its ugly head until we deal with it.
I am not perfect, I will never be, but I am enough to try what I feel might work. I don’t know what the entire bible says but I am learning and applying the little I find out
daily. And I think everyone owes it to himself or herself to figure it out for
themselves.
At the end of the day, we agree that ‘men of God’ are firstly men, right? This means it’s needless expecting them to help you in your growth with God. I fell into that trap of thinking a ‘man of God’ is equated to God and it is not new to find people fall in that hole.
How do you begin to learn to serve a God you have never seen? It takes another level of faith to do that but we live in a generation/Country where people don’t want to study for themselves. They don’t want to read the Scriptures. Well, they don’t want to read, period. They want to pursue things instead and have somebody do the praying and studying for them. If you fall in that category, you need to repent.
I learnt that when the veil was torn, we all were given equal access to the Father. No matter how long you may have been in church, if you don’t know what that means you better ask somebody. And seek a real relationship with the God you claim to serve.
That is what I am spending most of my time doing these days. Praying, studying, seeking, knocking. The peace I have felt despite all the hate mails and tantrums shows that God is not angry with me and I did what I needed to do to the best of my understanding.
My apologies to everyone this has affected in one way or another.
Firstly, my family: I don’t know how you guys aren’t sick of me yet
Secondly, ‘the body of Christ,’ my intention was never to cause trouble but to stop a rot I felt might spread and become worse if nobody spoke up about it.
Lastly, to those who said I shouldn’t blog again, I respect and understand your concerns but the truth is, writing is not just my gift, it is also my ‘curse’. I cannot ‘NOT’ write but I PROMISE, this is the last I will say on this issue except the christian body needs to see me.
God is building His church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. No sin is too big to wreck anyone’s faith. If it does, then it means it’s working out a greater good for you. You will definitely come out stronger and better in the end. Like my best friend says “in the end, it will be all right and if it ain’t alright, it’s notthe end.”

I was going to be silent on this sad, pathetic but true (in many shades) allegation against Pastor B and his popular and trendy ministry.
My silence was borne out of respect for the kingdom of God and things that pertain to God. But all this changed when I heard the horrific tales of people who had been through the mess of this blind man, and the fact that he had no moral motivation to deny or accept the allegation; all he showed on
Sunday was a demented swagger and perverse talk.
My sole purpose in writing this piece is to open the eyes of the world and believers to the hypocrisy and nonsense behind the pulpit, and to plea that these wolves and blind men stop deflating the faith of people who Christ died for.
I am a Pastor, a full time minister at that, and I shall not sit back while the name of my God, the ministry, and the works of other shepherds is brought to disrepute by the activities, action and inaction of a few blind men behind the pulpit.
I am tired of the nonsense of religion crying out, “touch not my anointed”; does this mean we cannot rebuke ourselves when we err, this much Paul did to Peter when he erred in Galatians 2:11 “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed”.
It is therefore pertinent that I rebuke the wolves in shepherd’s clothing’s. It is time to set the record straight, and please don’t sell me the bullocks of judge not, I haven’t said anyone is going to hell, but of course if they don’t change, they have only one path.
It is high time we told the truth, which is plain, simple and without coloration. The stories of Franca and Ese is not only true but they are just a few tales of the tantalizing sex escapades of this clergy.
This has been a recurring decimal in the ministry of the clergyman. This wasn’t the first time these stories will come forth, for those old COZA members, for those who were there when he was in Ilorin, when the church moved to Pipeline Road, Ilorin, having left Kwara Hotel, they will remember there was a time when the Pastor was suspended from ministering by his Father in the Lord, Rev Oset of Canaan Ministries.
Rev. Oset sent guest ministers to the church every Sunday after that, but still Pastor B in his deceit will still minister in the pretence of introducing the guest minister, while he exhorts for minutes.
I therefore laugh in mockery when He says his wife loves him, the woman has no choice. His core circle of Pastor Wole (Ilorin Chapter, the only man who maybe clean), and Pastor Flo (COZA, Lagos) knows of this fact, little wonder Ese said Pastor Flo said he knows about their adventures in that hotel room in London.
This is not the story of a hater; I don’t want or envy anything he has. He cannot ever have what I have and carry; neither do I crave for what he has. I am sure no one in the city of Ilorin, where this man started is bemused by these stories, no one who finished from the University of Ilorin during the period of 2003-2008, and was not a blinded COZA member can be mightily shocked at these revelations.
I have heard tales of many more victims, I even heard from a woman who knows five friends who were victims, I saw it online the other day of a guy who said he formally works for him and he knows up to 130 people, outrageous as it may sound that too is true.
Rev Oset in true conscience cannot deny the knowledge of these negatives. But we are a nation of hypocrites and religious folks; we ask no questions of leaders, so they can hide under the canopy of religion, even when they are filthy.
Anyone who asks is rebuked by those who say, the bible says pray. It is sad that those who say pray themselves have not prayed. But Pastor B is just a decimal in an ever mounting number of wolves in the Church of Christ.
Someone told me yesterday that this can’t be the end of him and his tyranny, because even in Ilorin in those days, the allegation was rolled under the rug.
On Sunday, August 25, 2013, the man leading certain blind men under the veil of religion and ‘spiritism’ said God told him not to say anything, he then said they are preparing a robust response. Who is fooling who? We must not keep quiet and watch the bride of Christ, the church, rubbed and undignified in mud and slime by a filthily rich pastor who thinks he can do anything and get away with it.
It is a pity that we run sensational press and media outfit in this country, and that our press is blinded by religion. If this were to be ‘saner’ climes the press would by now be researching, there would by now be investigative journalism. The truth would be dogged up and resurrected to life. For this is not about a mistake that a Pastor made, it is about a filthy man’s way of life.
And then about, “teaching a new level of grace’; please be reminded that Grace is not a license to sin, rather it empowers us to live above sin. Romans 6:1-2 says, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
In my years of being a Christian, studying God’s word, preaching the gospel, listening to sound teachers, I have not heard of a grace that gives permission to sin. Stop being deceived, grace is the new dispensation, according to Hebrew 8:6-12, and under grace we do not follow any written code, law or traditions. That is done away with. The tablet of Moses is over with. But we are not reckless sinners; we are under a new covenant based on better promises. God’s law is written in our minds and hearts. We live according to His dictates.
The Holy Spirit and our conscience convicts and judges us respectively. This is the only way we live a holy life. God’s strength and empowerment is the grace to do according to that written by God in our hearts and minds.
I write this with a heavy heart, though I wish I never had to write this, but I pray this madness stops. I know many who have stopped going to church, many whose faith has been derailed by the act of madness of this man, and many blind men like him. If they are not going to heaven, let them stop taking men out of the straight and narrow.
No one understands the pain in meeting a man, whose faith has been derailed by a man who was supposed to help establish him. For such a man, words can’t bring him back, the best we can do is to pray and hope. I indulge the clergy to be of a higher moral standard.
My candid advice to the church at this end time is that the church must grow in knowledge; it’s high time we stopped bamboozling you. You must stop making idols of men. You must stop making men such as I, substitute for the Holy Ghost. Honour us; revere us… but that is where it ends. Without the Call, the Oil, and the Holy Spirit; we are mere mortal. But know for sure that this too shall pass; only the truth of the Gospel of the Kingdom abides forever.
For Pastor B and his sense making COZA people, remember the word of Christ in Matthew 15:14. How many of you even live life bearing the fruit of righteousness. Stop being blind, the ditch is close by. Look into this case, ask your pastor questions, seek genuine answers and not emotional rhetorics, hold him responsible, and do not forget the word of God, “then shall they know if they follow to know…” I am sure evidence abound. Seek to know from some key PCU members (who may need to be deposited in Gods ICU). Its time you hear not only about grace, but HOLINESS without which no one will see the Lord.
Finally don’t bother praying against me, I can say like Paul, “For me to die is gain, to live is Christ”, but I cannot even go now, because I am yet to fully finish the task set before me. Don’t waste your time using misguided scriptural interpretation. This I write is true, and I am sorry if you don’t like it. Your Pastor, and every other wolf whose conscience is not seared knows it is the complete true.

Before I Write A Book part 3 - By Basketmouth
A part 3 of the comedian's Before I Write A Book series. Enjoy...
UNIBEN - 1999
When the posters came up on the hostel walls that there was going to be a Talent hunt show coming up which was organised by Femi Akinwunmi, I quickly registered for it as a rapper. The star price was a CD player..my dream. I imagined being able to replace our old cassette player and put on a CD like the rest of the boys.
I practised my lines and waited for d-day. 3 days to the event, I woke up with fever and to find my body covered with little sores...I had chicken pox. I used calamine lotion like my life depended on it, but they only seemed to increase by the day.
Then came the day of the competition. Everyone dressed up and left one after the other to the venue. I was in pain from the heat but in greater pain from being in that room rather than on that stage. I was covered in calamine lotion, disappointed as all my hope that I would have miraculously recovered in those 2 days had gone and with it, my dream of a CD player.
As I tried to play a tape on the radio to take my mind off everything, the cassette player wouldn't work. That was the last straw. In anger, I got up, washed off the lotion from my hands and feet, washed off my face and neck. I wore a long sleeve shirt, buttoned up and hit the road with my friend/manager...Bayo Adekeye. The walk from my room to the Uniben Auditorium was the most difficult 45 mins of my life...well, one of.
I got to the venue early enough, the competition was about to begin. I saw the brand new silver BUSH CD player on the stage...it was beautiful. I couldn't help but imagine. Then the compere, Tee A began to call out the names. Before long, I heard my name...I came out did my one track performance and in the second round,I switched the game at them,and did a comedy performance.
The next morning, our neighbours woke up to the loudest music, it came from our room, we were celebrating, singing, shouting and dancing to music from the shiny BUSH CD player on our table...and in midst of the crowd, a young dreamer covered from head to toe in white calamine lotion danced the hardest.....
Now guys......i'll stop here,you guys should wait for the book. It comes out this December.

Assassins murder union leader’s 14-year-old son in Akure
A teenager, Oluwaseyi Adelegan, 14, was on Friday murdered by unknown assailants at his father's house in Akure. The deceased is the son of Chief Solomon Adelegan, the National President, Amalgamated Union of Public Corporation, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services.
The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) in Ondo State, Mr Wole Ogodo, confirmed the incident.
"It is obvious the young boy was killed while trying to move out of his bedroom to the sitting room before he eventually gave up,'' Ogodo said.
Ogodo, who said that no arrest had been made, said that the case had been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
According to him, the information surrounding the death of the young boy is still sketchy, but I assure you that police will get to the root of the crime.
It was gathered that a group of suspected assassins invaded the home of the Adelegans located at Aduralere Quarters in Ijoka Area of Akure and macheted the boy to death.
According to a source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, Oluwaseyi was found in a pool of his blood in his parents' house.
The source said that deceased was hale and hearty when his siblings left for holiday coaching in the morning and he was the only person left in the house.
"The siblings were surprised to find the dead body of their brother in the sitting room when they returned from school.
"The children raised alarm when they saw their brother, but the young boy was stone dead before their arrival,'' the source added.
Scores of sympathisers thronged the residence of Adelegan to condole with him on the death of his son.
I pray that the Lord will grant the family to bear this tragic loss

Female passenger causes panic aboard Aero flight
Passengers were Friday thrown into confusion aboard an Aero Contractors aircraft scheduled to take-off from Lagos to Benin as one of the female passengers started screaming on top of her voice that she
was no longer travelling, thus causing panic onboard.
The passenger's strange behaviour is coming barely one week after a teenage boy, Daniel Ohikena caused scare at the airport when he stowed away on Arik Air plane from Benin to Lagos.
The female passenger whose identity could not be ascertained at press time was said to have been ignored by members of cabin crew and passengers alike but her persistence led to suspicion among the passengers.
An eye-witness who confided in Saturday Vanguard said that the female passenger after boarding the flight screamed on top of her voice that she was no longer willing to travel with the plane.
The strange behaviour, however led to the delay of the Benin- bound aircraft for two hours as all the passengers were asked to disembark while the plane was screened again.
Saturday Vanguard further gathered that all the checked-in luggage were also off-loaded for proper screening by both Aero and Aviation Security, AVSEC, of the Federal Airports authority of Nigeria, FAAN.
But despite the re-screening of the already checked in passengers and their luggage, nothing suspicious was found on board.
It was also learnt that the passenger was handed over to security agents by AVSEC while the other passengers proceeded on the journey to Benin.
According to the source, "All passengers were already onboard and the pilot was preparing to take off before the woman started the strange behaviour.
"At first, no one took her seriously, but when the shouting and soliloquy continued, the passengers became apprehensive and ordered the pilot to abort the flight.
"The situation was not funny at all. In fact, the woman was speaking in a language which no one understood. But I can tell you authoritatively that all the passengers have been taken to Benin with the same aircraft and they landed in the airport safely.
"This was not the first time such an incident would be happening. In fact, it is common among first time travellers but no one knows the motive behind this act. However, I believe the security agents will do their work and reveal what led to the strange behaviour."

Permit me to say am really tired of the happening in this country, nothing seems to be working in almost of the sectors of this nation- I stand to be corrected though. The only things that seem to be working are the churches making more money and the some of the pastors sleeping with the members where the rest of the church are just as clueless…..yea like duh!
What I don’t seem to understand is all these our so called leaders that claim they have the nation’s goodwill at heart do not want us to even grow or be as developed as other nations where they spend the looted money, go for check ups and send their kids to study. If they really enjoyed all these abroad why can’t they bring it here????? I wonder!! Why cant wehave those sophisticated medical facilities, good transport system (road, rail, air) and educational system too?
What baffles me is the Government keeps complaining they don’t have money and am like where do they get the ones they loot from? ok lets all pretend that we don’t have money, how about slashing the salary of most of these people that are in key positions ; from the president, vice president, the senate and in every MDAs??? I know the senate would immediately vote against it.
I think common sense ( though not common) should tell them that they could bring all these they enjoy in other countries here, I mean why is it so difficult for them to do so, the educational sector has been grind to a halt even the woman who had all her children schooled in Harvard and knows the quality of good education “ follow open mouth” and say we don’t have money meaning that the children who their parents cant afford the tuition for Harvard do not deserve to be in school anyway and ASUU can as well go to hell…. Chaii!!! And our dear president who has been a lecturer is forming hard to get like he does not understand. If I should advice, I think ASUU should continue with the strike until all their demand are met 100% , the student should please endure, I know it has not been easy but I assure you that in the end it would be worth the wait. I know we Nigerians have this impatience in us we want everything to be done fast if not faster, good things come to those who wait huh. Thank God the health workers have called off their six(6) days strike.
This is not an attempt or an attempted attempt (LOL) to attack or ridicule the Nigeria Government, its just my way of begging them to wake up, do something and stop taking Nigerians as fools because we are not. We want every sector of the economy to be functioning especially Health and Education, we need an improvement in all these sectors- we need them to be working, especially for we that can not afford to travel abroad to have them.
We would appreciate it if you do this for us and we might vote for you in 2015.

Before I write a book- part 2

As I pay respect to those great men that changed my life, the seemingly little gestures that shaped me and have made me who I am... I recall another long evening...
Year 2000, Fame pre-award concert. Dele Olukoju and Wale Oluwaleimu were the stage/project managers. I had met Wale before then and he had suggested I come perform in my bid to build a name.
I went there with a friend of mine,we had spent the last kobo on us transporting ourselves and getting food to eat as the event didn't start early enough. Continue...
My performance was done @ about midnight. It was a great outing for me. As it was time to leave,I met with the show organisers hoping I'd be paid for my service or get a little change for transport. Unfortunately, communication had gone wrong somehow as they thought I was doing the performance for free.
It dawned on me at that moment, that I was in trouble.
My friend and I then decided to just hang around as the concert was still on and our last hope was that we might get a free ride.
By 2am, the concert was still banging in full swing and I was totally exhausted. While moving around I met Six Foot Plus and Terry D Rapman...now, I was a big fan of their work and so we got talking. It so happened that they loved my performance that evening so we hit it off immediately.
After some minutes of small talk, I swallowed my ego and pride and brought myself to ask Six Foot Plus for transport money, he didn't have much on him but he split what he had and gave me N60 which was more than enough to cover our bus fare.
We happily bounced out from the concert, confident. We approached the main road and as God will have it,there was a bus going our way. In 30mins we were in Yaba, walking to Railway Compound-Ebute Meta where I was staying.
By 4am I lay in my little corner, the end of another successful day in my struggle for relevance, I was happy at my chance to perform.
Exhausted by my ordeal but most importantly, I was grateful for that rapper who shared all he had on him with me, my new friend and saving grace, Six foot Plus

Rochas Signs Abortion Bill Into Law in Imo
Imo State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, and Catholic Medical Practitioners Association are at daggers-drawn over the abortion bill the former just signed into law. The law, among others, permits women to procure abortion at will.
Sponsored by the Majority Leader and member representing Ahiazu Mbaise state constituency, Mrs. Adekunle Ihuoma, the law is to be cited as “Imo State of Nigeria, Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law Number 12 of 2012”.
According to the new law, every woman shall have the right to enjoy reproductive rights, including rights to medical abortion in cases of sexual assault, rape, incest and where the continued pregnancy endangers the life or the physical, mental, psychological or emotional health of the mother.
The law also stipulates that “every woman shall have the right to take decisions about her health needs and requirements.”
The law was very specific that a woman “shall have the right to determine the processes concerning reproduction in her body.”
Okorocha also approved that every woman should have a right to health, which should be understood to mean enjoyment of the highest level of physical, mental and social well-being and healthcare services.
These provisions include everything relating to family planning.
Chairman, Catholic Medical Practitioners Association, Dr. Phillip Njemanze, has reacted angrily to the law, arguing that “the law is anti-God, dehumanizing and totally unacceptable to the association.
“The law is devastating. With its signing into law by Governor Okorocha, abortion has been legalized in the state and anybody, just anybody can now ask for abortion as a right in the state.”

Senior Nigerian lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, 3 others kidnapped
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria and human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, and three other persons has been abducted by suspected kidnappers in Edo state. It was reliably gathered that the human rights lawyer,
activist and three others who were on their way to Ozekhome's home in Auchi, the administrative headquarters of Etsako West local government area of Edo state, was abducted at gun point about 3.30 pm on Friday in Ehor, Uhunmwode local government area.
Three police officers, including an assistant superintendent of police and an inspector, were killed in their bid to rescue the kidnap victims. The kidnappers laid ambushed for their vehicle and shot at them.
Ozekhome's abduction was the third kidnapping in this area in less than two weeks, aside from other cases of kidnapping that have rocked the state in the past few weeks.
Edo state Police Command spokesman, ASP Moses Eguavoen, confirmed the story to journalists in Benin.
Though, its has not been confirmed if the kidnappers have contacted the families of the victims.

Shocking: Stranded Boko Haram members turn human eaters in Borno - Suspect
Dozens of suspected Boko Haram militants in Magumeri forest, Borno, have turned to human eaters after being stranded for days without food or water. Magumeri forest is about 150 kilometres from
Maiduguri, the state capital.
Mallam Momodu Bukar, a suspected militant, told newsmen on Saturday in Maiduguri that he fled the camp at the forest on Thursday when it became obvious that he was going to be eaten.
"I thank God that I escaped because I would have been slaughtered by now to provide meal for my colleagues at the camp," Bukar said.
The suspected militant was captured by a Youth Vigilante Group, popularly known as the civilian JTF at Baga Road motor park, Maiduguri, on Friday..
He said the militants had been in the forest since May, when they were dislodged from Marte, Marte Local Government Area, by the Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO) after the declaration of the State of Emergency.
"Our group, consisting of about 300 well armed combatants, headed for Magumeri on the orders of the sect leader, Abubakar Shekau, shortly before the military took over Marte Camp.
"We have been wandering in the forest. We have exhausted our food and water supply, and so, everybody became hungry," Bukar said.
He also said that they lost contact with Shekau due to the closure of GSM services by the Defence Headquarters.
"It all started last Monday when three of the combatants in camp died of acute hunger, and it became obvious that all of us will die if action was not taken.
"The leader of the group, Abu Omar, directed that a non combatant member be slaughtered to provide meal for the rest.
"The meat provided meal for the combatant for just two days and another person was killed in the same manner on Wednesday.
"So, it became certain that I might be the next person since I am also a non combatant member."
Bukar said he escaped after volunteering to help search for drinking water for the group in a nearby village.
"I left the camp on Thursday evening after agreeing to fetch water from the village.
"After leaving the camp, I started running until I arrived at Magumeri town, so, I slept in the motor park before boarding a vehicle to Maiduguri with the little money on me." he said.
Bukar said that he was apprehended immediately he arrived at the motor park in Maiduguri by the youth vigilante group.
Commenting, an official of the vigilante group, Mallam Ajid Asheik, said the suspect would be handed to the Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO) for investigation.

It has been announced that Tope Alabi erstwhile spiritual father, Prophet Elijah Iretiola Ajanaku has finally had his last breathe. This was confirmed by a team of medical doctors late yesterday.
Below is the official statement issued by the church to announce his demise:
‘The death has been announced of Prophet Elijah Iretiola Ajanaku whose death was confirmed by a team of doctors on Thursday night after several vigil of prayers since Saturday evening when his health deteriorated. Prophet Ajanaku who hailed from the Owo Ope family in Gbongan is survived by his wife, Joy and two children Stella and Apotieri. His remains has beeen deposited at the Military Mortuary, Yaba, Lagos.
Though he was born a Moslem over 40 years ago in Gbongan, he moved to Lagos in the 90s and settled in Ipaja Ayobo area where he acquired skills in many vocations and engaged in several trades before his encounter with God.
He founded and shepherded the Christ Revival Victory Chapel International, Ayobo, Ipaja, Lagos and rose to become the President of The Ajanaku World Outreach, a ministry devoted to the spread of the gospel outside the church. His last mission unaccomplished was Idoani For Christ, slated for September 30 and October 1, 2013 in Idoani, Ondo State.
Until his death, he was a widely travelled evangelist with remarkable crusades and prophetic healings around the world. Burial arrangements will be announced by the family and the church soon’

Woman arrested for allegedly buying baby for 1.2million Naira
Evelyn Atemkeng, a middle-aged woman believed to be from Cameroon, on Thursday was arrested in Calabar, the Cross River State capital by men of the Nigeria Immigration Service for allegedly buying a
three day old baby at the cost of N1.2 million.
Mrs Atemkeng accompanied by her aged mother, Anastasia Fambong, was said to have bought the baby boy from a matron of a clinic in Delta State.
Commander of the Cross River State Command, Mr Samuel Ichoi, said his men accosted the lady while she was boarding a ship to Cameroon.
He said: "The lady came from Cameron to Nigeria on Friday without any sign of pregnancy but she was found to be carrying a baby and when my men examined her there are no signs that she just gave birth. So, she and the baby were apprehended."
Mrs Atemkeng told reporters she gave birth to the baby and that the money she paid into the account of the matron was for delivery and herbs she gave to her to aid delivery.
"She (matron) said my breast would start producing milk in three weeks but for now the baby is taking baby food," Atemkeng said.
She said she came to Nigeria because she did not have anybody in Cameroon to take care of her.
She said: "I am married and my husband is in Cameroon but there is nobody to take care of me in Cameroon; that was why I came to Nigeria to deliver."
The Anti-Human Trafficking officer of the NIS at the Calabar Port, Mrs Agbor Ojong Ogar, said she took time to examine the woman and she did not have any sign of someone who just gave birth.She said:
"The woman passed here on Friday; she left on Saturday and returned to Calabar on Tuesday and was heading back to Cameroon with a baby and when we examined her, she does not have any signs of having given birth recently."

I want to talk about something I have kept bottled up inside for longer than necessary. I
have also decided to use real names, as my defense for any accusation of slander is justification. I tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but. However, feel free to throw your doubt around but know that I am past the shaming game (where victims of abuse are shot down by blame) I am no longer a victim but a survivor who is sharing her experience to help others caught in same web of abuse, guilt and shame. We only get to live once right? So here, it goes…
I met Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo many years ago. I was getting bored of the church I was attending and someone suggested COZA.
At the time, I had never heard about it. My friend said, go there, I’m sure you would enjoy the word. But he also gave me a strong warning. He said he would advice that I remain a member only and not join the workforce. I agreed.
The first time I attended COZA, I felt it was my church and decided I was going to plant my Bottom there. About eleven months had gone by and I was still attending the services quietly and faithfully. I really did like the church.
One day a worker in the church approached me that the senior pastor wanted to see me. Me? I thought. Why would the senior pastor want to see me? Not the second man but the head nigga in charge? Ok na! I started to think my sin was oozing so bad the pastor could tell I needed Jesus. (Poor old me.)
I saw him at the end of the second service (they had two services at the time) and he said to me that he would like me to work with him. I knew I had no intentions of becoming a pastor so I had to ask in what capacity. He said he’d like for me to join a department, preferably the Pastoral Care Unit (PCU).
A few weeks later, against my friend’s advice not to join the workforce, I was a PCU member. All of a sudden, I had some status in church. I was ‘somebody.’ Dress had to be on point, hair, shoes and what not… As workers, we were literally trying to outshine each other or so it seemed. Anyways, I felt like I was a privileged member of an elite circle. Hehehe. (It did feel good though, for the most part.)
About a year after joining the workforce, I was on my way to London for a Masters degree program that would last two years. As was the rule for workers travelling, I wrote to say I would be away for 2 years and Pastor Biodun Fotoyinbo asked that I keep in touch by sending him my number and email when I had settled in London so he “makes sure I continue in the faith” because according to him, people loose their faith when they leave home and he wanted to make sure I didn’t.
So, on that note, as soon as I got a phone line in London, I was sure to call ‘my pastor’ to say I arrived safe, had settled in and also gave my phone number.
One evening, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo called me that he was coming to London and needed me to help him make some hotel bookings as the person who was meant to do it couldn’t get it done (this was rather strange as I had never been involved in his travel itinerary).
Later that day, he said it had been sorted and my help would not be required but that he would like me to arrange a cab to pick him up from Heathrow. I was happy to help my pastor from Nigeria and even saw it as a privilege. (I would later come to learn that all of this was a calculated attempt to hatch a plan that I suspect was set in motion when I was asked to join the workforce.)
The cab guy was there to get him the next day and when he arrived, he called to ask why I didn’t accompany the cab to pick him up (again, this was strange but I stopped my mind from overanalyzing the situation as I knew I had no business with his visit to London)
About two hours later, he called me and said he would like to see me. When I arrived his hotel, I called from the reception but he asked that I come upstairs. I got to the room and tried to stop my mind from thinking why I was going to his room.
As he opened the door and invited me in, I had to speak to my heart to stop its palpitations. My better judgment asked me not to go into the room but the kind of reverence I had for Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo bordered on fear as I stepped into that room.
“Care for a drink?” Asked Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.“No sir,” I said.“You don’t have to be shy Ese, even if it’s alcohol, feel free and order what you want.” I wasn’t sure I heard my pastor asking me to order alcohol. I imagined it was a test and ignored the voice inside that was saying, “I’d have henny and coke please.”
He proceeded to ask how I had been coping in London and if I was a committed member of any church. He also said he thought there was something special about me and wanted to know that I had not strayed from my faith. I really thought he had heard I was doing something I shouldn’t while in London but tried my best to focus on the conversation instead of my straying thoughts.
He kept telling me to relax and feel comfortable with talking to him. After a few minutes, he asked that we go to the roof of the hotel as his room was a pent suit and had a connecting door to the roof.
While there, he sat on a reclining chair and asked me to come sit on his laps. This was a bit awkward for me and I froze for a moment as I asked why. He said he had told me to feel free with him and loosen up. I found myself strolling to sit on his laps. At that moment, I felt like a little girl who was experiencing something her mind couldn’t fathom.
He asked me to kiss him and all I could think about was seeing him preach on the pulpit back in COZA Abuja, Nigeria, which was my home church. He again said ‘feel free Ese.’ And asked again, that I kiss him.
A few hours later, let’s just say, we were rolling under the sheets. It felt as though my mind had paused. I am not saying I was jazzed, (although it’s possible I was in some trancelike state and didn’t know it but I just was so afraid that I couldn’t say or think otherwise.) That was the beginning of this affair. A intimate affair that went on for a little over a week, DAILY!
At some point, I got really confused about what Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and I were doing that I had to ask how he handles it. I will never forget what he said to me. He said and I quote,
“I will teach you a level of grace that you don’t understand.”
My mind couldn’t fathom that somehow grace was enough covering for not just fornication on my path, adultery on his path and the many lies that was bound to follow what we were doing that was clearly abominable. I somehow dealt with the thoughts and fears that followed on my path.
He had said to me that he wanted me to be his girlfriend and he would take me around the world and spoil me with money and things. Somehow, money had never been one of the things that motivated me (I am from a home where all my needs have been adequately met) In all my ‘badness’ through finding myself, I never did things I did for money but more of rebellion against rules and authority.
Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo also said to me that he had a dream where I exposed what was happening to the media. Said it was all over the place and that people were calling me the girl that caused chaos in COZA. He also said I should remember the bible said to “touch not God’s anointed.” I immediately started to rebuke the devil and said I could never do anything like that. I was almost swearing with my entire family as I thought really I had touched God’s anointed by submitting my body to be used. Little did I know at the time that all of these were ways to mess with my mind and even manipulate my thoughts.
Fast-forward a few months later, I was back in Nigeria and my church had become uncomfortable. Anytime I sat in church and listened to Pastor Biodun preach, I felt shame. I finally sent him a message saying I wasn’t comfortable anymore.
I was confused and needed to talk about what had happened. He said I should meet him to talk and I did. It was a really weird meeting for me especially when he tried to kiss me at our meeting. I finally realized at this point that he couldn’t help me. I thought God was angry with me and I couldn’t pray so I decided to withdraw completely from COZA.
This was the beginning of my mental torture. I couldn’t talk to my family because already, I was the only one attending a different church and somehow my mom never liked the idea. As the days went by I tried to use drinking and smoking to cover up the deep shame and guilt I was battling with. But as soon as the high was over, the thoughts came back and I felt stuck like I couldn’t move forward.
I felt I had to talk to someone and I decided to speak to my then good friend, Ernest Akale but unfortunately for me, Mr. Ernest did not have the capacity to hold what I said to him. He broke down completely the days that followed and I found myself having to pause how I was feeling and what I was struggling with to help my friend be strong. After a while, he withdrew from not just me but his then fiancé and friends. I had to then tell the fiancé what had caused it (she suspected we were having an affair so I had to clear the air)
To my surprise she was a lot stronger than her man and told me to suck it up (I’m paraphrasing). She said if she were me, she wouldn’t leave the church but stay to torment Pastor Biodun and collect money from him. Ok! That sounded extreme for me, as my intention was not to blackmail but to heal my broken self.
Anyways, I finally found the courage to speak to my then unit head who said he was going to talk to Pastor Biodun but didn’t have the liver to do so. Before long, the story was spreading and naturally getting twisted.
I went to a new church and it seemed like the COZA bug had chased me there. The pastor would always refer to COZA as some example and each time that was done, it seemed like a spear was thrust through my chest. One day, I broke down in the service and started crying uncontrollably, as I couldn’t take another mention of COZA and the pictures it painted in my head.
Very long, boring story cut short, for the last 5 months I gave the whole church thing a big space and break. I wasn’t sure I believed in God. I wasn’t sure I understood what it meant when people said ‘Jesus saves” and I definitely wasn’t sure how to deal with the mental torture that was affecting not just me but my relationships with family and friends. I was very unstable, fearful and worst of all guilty.
I got a chance to talk to Pastor Folarin of COZA Lagos Chapter, popularly called Pastor flo about everything. I made an effort to reach out to him because I realized the right thing to do was talk to an elder in the church and seek some sort of remedy to a wrong I believed had been done me. Instead, Pastor Flo said, Pastor Biodun had confessed to him and they had ‘talked’ about it and somehow that was supposed to be Ok.
He asked what it was I wanted coming to talk to him about it when I did, I told him I realized what happened between Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and I was wrong and not just that I felt abused and manipulated. I also said I thought it was wrong for Pastor Biodun to go on preaching without taking time to deal with his personal character flaws. I said I thought he was danger to all the young women that attended the church.
Come to think of it, maybe he meant if I wanted something monetary or material (as someone had suggested when I opened up to her) but the truth is, I never wanted his money (or is it the church member’s money.)
All I wanted was to meet with him and have him accept that he misled me, betrayed his wife and the church he pastors. I wasn’t the only lady in COZA who had been a victim of his sexcapades and manipulative patterns but I was the one who could come back after months of struggle with not just my faith but also my affair with him. And I wanted to set things right. I wanted to talk to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo maybe for closure and I felt like I needed an apology because he played the “touch not my anointed” card to keep me locked in guilt, shame and fear when all along it was a calculated plan and I dare say, it started when he asked me to join the workforce.
Not to mention the audacity to talk about teaching me a level of grace I didn’t understand. I had no intention of understanding a grace that would permit me to go on doing things that were wrong and what’s worse having to carry the burden for almost a year.
Different surprising advises came up in the weeks that followed the rumour making rounds. I was told to hush because Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo had been a cultist in the past and could send people to shut me up. All my so-called friends in COZA withdrew from me and treated me like I had the plaque.
What was worse was Pastor Flo finally saw my then pastor to ‘talk’ about what had happened with Pastor Biodun and lied that it happened once and was a mistake.
My question then became, ‘do these people even care how broken I had become?’ ’do they care about the emotional and spiritual welfare of the people they were pastoring?’ The sad answer was NO. Most of us old members of COZA kept leaving but they couldn’t care less. What was important was to keep growing the church and having more and more cars with stickers that read “More than enough.”
Back then, I always felt horrible when I saw another car drive past me with the sticker. I was breaking, I was struggling but no one could help. All they could do was ask me to hide so Pastor Biodun’s goons don’t hurt me.
And then the interesting one was if I had evidence to prove my claim. Let me just say here that, it isn’t a claim, it’s a confession to free me from all of the guilt and shame I have had to live with for no reason at all. (That being said, I have evidence to prove all I have said here, the latest being a 58 minutes recording of my meeting with Pastor Flo a few months back)
This is my confession and I cannot begin to describe how much weight has been lifted off of my shoulders just pouring the truth out about what went down. So, to all my ex COZA friends gossiping about me, get your facts right.
To those who said they’d help me deal with the pain but didn’t, I forgive you, I have learnt how to deal with it and I am doing just fine. To those who fear for my safety saying Pastor Biodun would send people to shut me up, I really have gone past fearing for my life. To live is gain and to die is Christ (or how does Paul say it again?)
And to the only person who ever supported me through it all, thank you, I am learning to be brave. Please don’t think I am perfect in all of this but in line with living my authentic life and putting all forms of abuse behind me, this is where I press the stop button and stop the bleeding. This is where I break the silence and call the church to stand up for what it has been commissioned to do.
If you will not enter the Kingdom, please don’t stop others who are trying to enter.I still remember when I used to nurse the idea of digging up emails, text messages, hotel billings (as once I used my card to pay for his room when his master card failed to work) to prove there was an affair. It was pathetic. Why for the love of heaven was I trying to dig up evidence? I am satisfied setting the record straight. I am ready for any shaming or bashing that would follow because the truth is, because of what I have suffered and come through, I am really not moved by what people say or think about me anymore.

He was born in Saint Thomas in 1832. He is one of the founding missionaries that established the Archbishop Vining church in Ikeja. Before the next time you succumb to your long-running battle with logorrhoea, Femi please do some research.

Oro Worshippers Hold Funeral Rites For Pastor Ajanaku
Wonders they say shall and would never end. According to GazelleNews, the late founder and spiritual leader of the Christ Revival Victory Chapel International, Pastor Elijah Iretiola Ajanaku, might have belonged to the Oro cult in his lifetime.
Residents of Ikola Odunsi, where Ajanaku lived before he breathed his last on Saturday evening at Gbongan in Osun State, were surprised early Tuesday morning when Oro masquerades went to town in funeral rites for the departed ‘Pastor’.
The funeral rites which reportedly began at about 12.30am ended between 3 and 4am.The Oro worshippers chanted the name of Ajanaku throughout the night. Residents of Ikola Odunsi, where Ajanaku lived before he breathed his last on Saturday evening at Gbongan in Osun State, were surprised early Tuesday morning when Oro masquerades went to town in funeral rites for the departed ‘Pastor’.
The funeral rites which reportedly began at about 12.30am ended between 3 and 4am.The Oro worshippers chanted the name of Ajanaku throughout the night. ACN, CPC blame ANPP for Boko Haram in Borno
The ex-members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change [CPC] and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) have collectively said that the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) in Borno state is
responsible for all the misfortunes of the state in the past four years, including the Boko Haram-induced insecurity bedeviling the state.
The two parties that are currently coalition members of the newly registered political party by INEC, All Progressives Congress (APC), had at their last all political parties stakeholders joint meeting and press conference held in Maiduguri saturday at the State Hotel Banquet Hall, ahead of their much expected proper formal merger process in the state with the state's ruling ANPP, expressed doubt over the merger as opposition political parties and possible disassociation.
"We all know that Borno state problem is the ANPP; since 1999 to date, the ANPP has ruled Borno state and the dividends of democracy ANPP is giving Borno people is the present insecurity and instability', the state chairman of CNPP, Comrade Babagana Musa said in his speech.
"The incompetence of the present ANPP government in Borno state leads to so many hardship; so many pledges made by the present ANPP are not fulfilled; and due to lapses of the ANPP government, they cannot show a single project that they have executed in the past two years," Musa added.
The CNPP State Chairman's comment was however rejected by other chairmen of the merging parties who quickly pointed out to newsmen that 'all said was the personal opinion of Musa and not the opinion of the meeting'.
While fielding questions from journalists after the well attended post APC registration meeting, the Borno state chairman of the CPC said, "they can only vouch for their parties' sincerity in the merger, 'but we cannot speak for the ANPP on this merger". However, the PPA and CNPP State Chairmen, Comrade Babagana K. Musa stated that, "there is no doubt to say the least that hurdles await APC in Borno state as one of the ten challenges ahead of the APC is the 'threats from smaller political parties'.
APC must not take for granted, the threats posed by less small opposition political parties, some of whom are under-rated in the merger process. Those seemingly insignificant political parties could easily constitute a stumbling block to APC. In view of this and many more reasons, our advice is not to underrate these political parties".
"But rather work with them to galvanise their support to provide a formidable opposition to the ruling PDP. Analysts believe that this is one sure way that the APC would still maintain an alliance with less stronger parties rather than leaving them at the mercy of the PDP that could easily use them to their political advantage. In view of the above, we are extending hands of friendship and alliance to APC if we are very much indeed important and relevant in Borno state politics,"
Musa said earlier that, the chairman of the defunct Borno CPC, Ibrahim Elzubairu, who chaired the meeting that was tagged 'Fusion of CPC/ACN in Borno', noted that the new APC in Borno 'is a new beginning, politically, free from the divisive, restricted politics of recent past, characterized by fear and hero worship'.
While in his speech, the State Chairman of the defunct ACN, Alhaji Kawu Tijjani, pointed out that 'the APC should not be seen as a mere change in name for any of the parties in the merger project'. According to him, the choice of Nigige was made after a truce reached over a deadlock that had threatened the unity of the party in the state.
He further disclosed the south-east caucus of the party agreed on the candidature.

Chief FFK is my Hero says a Fan
In part, one of the alluring sentences of ex-minister Femi Fani-Kayode, my hero (especially if that remains the name of the brand of beer most popular in South Eastern Nigeria, rumoured to be owned by the Anambra State Governor, Pastor Peter Obi), reads: “the Igbo continuously run us down, blame us for all their woes, envy our educational advantages and resent us deeply for our ability to excel in the professions and commerce”. This and many more made Madam Oby Ezekwesili boil. Madam didn’t understand the statement. If my hero is so educated as claimed in the quoted sentence above and is envied and writes fine thrash, why should anyone give him so much attention?
Anyways, who wouldn’t be angry? Concerned Nigerians who wouldn’t hesitate to tweet (this country could be boring. We await new nonsense daily, on the blog’ sphere to keep body and soul busy) sent a few punches to the man; the lawyer, poet and essayist and my hero. (That’s what his Wikipedia page says jor.) Mr. Fani-Kayode has enjoyed a swell time in the Nigerian government, as a Special Assistant to President Obasanjo. He has served as both Aviation and Tourism Minister.
To expect Mr. Fani Kayode to be detribalised is to ask too much. He is too busy minding the pretty backsides of sexy Igbo women. He abhors sanity. My hero, Mr. Fani-Kayode is a friend to the internet. When I am not laughing at the very bombastic Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon, or rolling on the floor because Madam First Lady has chosen to act more Nollywood movie rolls more than Mr. Ibu, I watch the hypocritical American musicians on television, revealing flesh and making sex a compulsory commodity, whereby they would fly to a country called Africa in no time and promote safe sex by sharing condoms and pornography in DVDs.
I deviated again! I must learn to stop obstructing myself and write without distraction. The man, my hero, who wrote the statement, had not stopped writing thrash to satisfy his tormenting demons who come in legions, with giant forks to disturb the life out of his sanity. Bloody stupid demon.

He talks about women and Illuminati. He is born-again. He is a retard. He is a tribal worm! What else does the Nigerian people want? He has ideas, coupled with pictures, maybe to make Nigeria “Jebs’ Prison”. My hero had been elected, maybe in error as a minister for aviation. He did much. He kept some private funds for himself. The EFCC is after him. They want a share of what he saved while he was in government. Maybe this hasn’t kept him in peace, I presume. It has contributed to his unstable mental state. I sympathise with those who hold him at high esteem, including my dishonourable self.
While I wouldn’t mind a tape where the Igbo people blamed Oga Fani-Kayode and his very loyal fans for their woes, I think he is a child in adult clothing who likes to call the attention of adults every now and then, by shouting unnecessarily. While I would let the above quote go, for it reeks of depression and maybe saddened threat by a hardworking ethnic group, it doesn’t deserve a place in my memory.
I like FFK. (He likes this abbreviation like he likes his job, making trouble.) He is a handsome man. He has a loud mouth. I’m sure he sniffs something I can’t lay a finger on – okay, I think that former Miss Nigeria – Regina something said it in her love letter to him. In it all, I like him – he remains my hero. He is a sick retard. He is such a mad man. He is a Nigerian. He has everything one expects of a Nigerian politician. He was an ex-minister and he did excellently and marvellously well. If he would come out in 2015 as a presidential candidate of one of those makeshift political parties, I would vote him. I would tell my friends to vote him. We will line up, face forward, with hopelessness and thumb print. If the vote isn’t enough, I would take a truck to my village and force everyone, especially at gunpoint to vote for the dearest FFK. Jonathan Directs Immediate End To Asuu Strike
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has instructed the committees meeting with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to ensure the immediate resolution of the contending issues, so that the lecturers could call off their strike.
Chairman of the presidential committee on needs assessment of universities, Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State, told State House correspondents after a meeting with President Jonathan on Tuesday, that “we have just risen from a meeting to take some decisions that would end the strike and the president has instructed us as to what to do and he has shown a lot of commitments and kicking off a project worth about N100 billion in all the universities in the country, about 61 of them.
“So, we are hoping that we will be able to see the end of the strike very soon if, at the end of the day, ASUU is satisfied with the measures that have so far taken. The Federal Government will also be meeting with the university councils and vice chancellors within the week, towards updating them on some of the decisions taken.”
He also disclosed that the Federal Government would meet the councils and vice chancellors in an attempt to resolve the issue of the N92 billion earned allowance being claimed by striking members of the union.
The council, he disclosed, would verify those to benefit from the N30 billion the Federal Government had already committed to assist the university authorities in the payment of the allowance.
While noting that negotiation with ASUU was ongoing, even as the Federal Government had shifted grounds, Suswam said “the Federal Government has opted to also meet with the councils and managements of the universities, because earned allowance is something that can be certified by the management and councils.
“The Federal Government said it is assisting the university councils with the sum of N30 billion for them to go and verify the people who actually earn these allowances and pay them. I think the government had demonstrated some substantial faith.”
Buttressing his point, the committee chairman pointed out that if the government had shifted its position by offering to pay N30 billion out of the total demand of the union, it showed a forward movement in the negotiation.
“Yes, if ASUU said this is the amount of money that the Federal Government is owing them and the government has shifted ground from its initial posture that there was no money and offered N30 billion, it means we are moving forward and with a N100 billion available now for addressing the physical infrastructure deficit in our universities, I think the Federal Government has done quite well,” he said.
Suswam was hopeful that the ongoing strike would be called off soon, “based on some of the mechanisms that we have put in place to move the sector forward,” noting that his committee had concluded its work on most of the areas assigned to it.
He reiterated that Jonathan would kick off university projects, including hostels, classrooms, theatres, libraries and laboratories, amongst others, in 61 universities, in the first week of next month, followed by a procurement process.
“Some are renovation projects, others are new and all the 61 universities are going to benefit from one project or another. So, it is not going to be selective. All the universities are going to benefit from this infrastructure revitalisation of our universities,” he said.

Igbo group demands N500Bn compensation for victims
A Pan – African group known as the Enugu State Roots Initiatives (ESRI) has demanded immediate payment of N500 billion for the compensation of people deported to Anambra state recently by the Lagos government. The body also asked the Lagos State government to provide them (the deportees) with a befitting housing accommodation and publicly apologies for denigrating their personal liberty and smearing the sanctity of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
They also called on other Igbo groups and professionals to speak up in condemnation of the act. They also condemned the sealing off of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu’s property and frowned at the statement credited to the former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode, saying such statements were capable of bringing about ethnic hatred and a break down of law order.

The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has appealed that her name should not be used to heat up the nation’s polity.
This is contained in a statement released in Abuja and signed by Mrs Ayo Adesugba, a Director of Information in the presidency.
According to the statement, reports that she snubbed the deputy governor on her arrival in Port Harcourt were false.
”It is important to set the record straight in order to prevent the public from being misled. The First Lady arrived in Rivers State yesterday for a private visit, to make arrangements for the burial of her late mother with members of her extended family.
”It should be clear to all that for quite some time now, the First Lady has refrained from commenting on issues relating to the politics of Rivers State.
”Dame Patience does not want her name to be used to heat up the polity. We therefore urge that the name of the First Lady be left out of the politics in Rivers State,” the statement stated.

a new Islamic sect called Kala Kato that has settled in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
According to what the spokesman of the Niger state Police command, ASP Richard Adamu told Daily Trust, the sect are said to be preaching some ideologies thought to be in contrast with conventional Islamic teaching. He said they are preaching against the teaching of Hadith (traditions of the holy prophet) and emphasising only on the contents of the Holy Quran.
ASP Adamu said most locals are apprehensive of their presence.
According to what the spokesman of the Niger state Police command, ASP Richard Adamu told Daily Trust, the sect are said to be preaching some ideologies thought to be in contrast with conventional Islamic teaching. He said they are preaching against the teaching of Hadith (traditions of the holy prophet) and emphasising only on the contents of the Holy Quran.
ASP Adamu said most locals are apprehensive of their presence.
Akwa Ibom LG chairman arrested for smuggling $82,000 into the US
The executive chairman of Essien Udim local government area of Akwa Ibom state, Mr Nse Ntuen, was arrested at the BWI International Airport in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday August 16th for smuggling $82, 000 into the US. The Maryland State Police Department confirmed the arrest yesterday Sunday August 18th, saying Mr Ntuen did not declare the money with the US custom officials. They said he only declared $5,000, only for an additional $77,000 to be found in his bag.
Mr Ntuen explained that he brought the money into the US to donate it at the Annual International Convention of the Akwa Ibom Indigenes in the US and Canada which held on Saturday at the Marriot Hotel in Washington, DC. I could feel the frustration in her tone as we spoke about different issues. You see since childhood, my Princess has been very independent, very focused and determined - no nonsense kind of ‘chic’, (can an apple fall too far from its tree). She is intelligent and extremely hardworking, I mean what more could a man ask for in a woman? Quickly, I was thinking of how to calm my ticked off Princess down. "Darling, you know daddy will always love you no matter what, most importantly you know damn too well that you are not under any pressure to get married. So be patient, concentrate on your carrier and yourself my darling, he will come when he comes, and if he doesn't come, have your baby, I wouldn't mind another grandchild." Did I really say that? Oh! Yes I did, and I meant that.
Single ladies are on the rise these days, because for a long time coming, there has been an explosion of male joblessness in Nigeria and the world over. There has also been a decline in men's life prospects that have disrupted and distorted the dating or the "marriage market", in a way that narrows a marriage minded woman's options. Today all the Nigerian single "good" ladies who are desirous to settle down are at a cross road in their dating life, most of them are simply tired, a lot are frustrated and many are giving up. Their options are really limited; it is mostly between the millions of Gigolos or the deadbeat, some of who are pretending that they are waiting for Jesus before they get it together; those who don't have ambition burning in their soul. I can't believe that I told my daughter to go ahead and have a baby out of wedlock. Well, with the way things are playing out in our environment, it is time we embraced new ideas about dating and marriage. Society’s highest institution called "Marriage" is fast becoming old fashioned and outdated. Look around and see the alarming rate of divorce matters all over the place, something is definitely wrong my people. At this rate, falling in love and getting married will be a question of choice rather than societal expectation or luck. Frankly speaking, women have climbed so high in their independence and career and are doing way better than the men. Men have been falling behind with amazing alacrity. Good single women are so disappointed and it’s unimaginable, it's like going to a party that has been the talk of the town for long. You buy your new dress hoping to show off at the party, but by the time you land, they tell you that all the good people have left, and the ones left are really the servants, their friends or relatives who have come to scavenge on the left over food. Believe it or not, that's the situation today, no kidding.
Since the days of my grandfather, marriage has been primarily an economic and political contract between 2 families, prized and policed by families, relatives and community. That’s why in my village, they will tell you "no be only your wife/husband you they marryoooooo" Things have changed since then, most of our dates are from facebook, bb chat, online dating, the hocus-pocus church called Pentecostals, etc. There is no doubt in my mind that we are in the midst of an extraordinary change. The transformation of young outstanding women, considered marriage material, is momentous, immensely liberating and immensely scary for prospective suitors. All the old ways are breaking down, these days ladies want to be in-charge of their lives, you can't blame them. Forget about the days of being submissive, na for your pocket. Forget about marriage vows where it says about obeying your husbands, hummmm joor, they are not slaves, understanding works better. Do they need husbands to have babies these days? Please don't get this twisted, marriage is divine and sweet when you can not only find a soul mate, but someone who can inspire you, respect you, love you, adore your feminity and independence. They are hard to find oooooo. My daughter knows that finding a good man is like finding a needle in a haystack. None the less, should women feel psychologically defeated? Hell No! Most men who don't know what time it is are still locked down with that old macho bullshit, that it is a Man’s world. Hummmmm for where, my people, women run things now, let’s get used to it, abegi, so our days on earth will be longer joor.
My princess, my baby, my joy, my little big girl knows that her character, her pedigree, her background, her ambition, her zeal and courage will most likely intimidate a lot of men out there, she realizes that this will further narrow her pool of prospects, just like she is also aware that with each passing year she is getting older and never younger but the options stay very limited. All I’m trying to say is this, I tip my hat for all the "good" single ladies out there, keep the fate, I admire your courage in not wanting to settle for any trash out there. If it doesn't fit, trash it, finding a life time partner is not ‘moimoi’. The world is already too troubled for you to be in a relationship that you know will not make you happy. Women can see these things ahead you know, that's why they are a special breed of God’s creation. Stop Risking Your Lives For Unreal Greener Pasture Abroad, Develop Your Country” – Briton Tells Nigerian Youths
A member of Volunteer Service Overseas, Mr. Michael Young, a citizen of United Kingdom has charged Nigerian youths to stay in their country to contribute to its development instead of risking their lives searching for unreal greener pasture.
Young, who stated this along his counterpart, Miss Samuel Joy Ben during a press conference in Ilorin to mark the beginning of International Youth Day celebration in collaboration with National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kwara State chapter, said immigrants could make it in their countries without embarking on dangerous journey.
Narrating his experience with Nigerian immigrants in UK, Young disclosed that his contact with a Nigerian man with his family in his country was not palatable.
“I met him in the toilet, he told me he has a wife and children in Nigeria whom he had to cater for. He told me he has to work for 15 hours washing toilets in different places.
“The question is, why can’t they stay in Nigeria? You can’t make it in this country because life in UK is too expensive. Youths can be in Nigeria and contribute to the development of the country”.
The volunteer, who appealed to government to ensure good policies on education, said it is through compulsory education for children between 6 to 18 years that helped UK to reduce poverty and youth unrest.
Young caution Nigerian youths and immigrants to be sure of where they are going if at all they want to travel abroad, stressing that the risk facing foreigners are too challenging.
His counterpart, Miss Ben advised Nigerian youths to change their attitude towards acquisition of money, stressing that there are many ways they could contribute meaningful to the society.
In his reaction, the Chairman of NYCN, Comrade Kazeem Adekanye noted that the main agenda of many youths in Nigeria travelling abroad is to seek greener pasture which lures them into series of problems.
He appealed to Nigerian youths to stay in the country and utilise their skills, talents for the development of the nation, stressing that over 70 million Nigerian youths out of over 150 million Nigerians are enough to build the nation.

when a Teacher In Edo State Could Not Read Her Certificate
It was a drama of sorts during the verification exercise of primary school teachers’ certificates in Edo State on Tuesday as one of the teachers in the state, Mrs. Augusta Odemwingie, could not read a sworn affidavit she tendered as part of her credentials.
Mrs. Odemwingie teaches at Asologun Primary School, Ikpoba Okha local government area of Benin City, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who paid an unscheduled visit to the State Staff Training Centre venue of the exercise was appalled that a teacher could not read, saying “if you can’t read, what do you teach the pupils? What do you write on the board?”
The Chairman of the state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Comrade Patrick Ikosimi, who was also at the screening to monitor the exercise, said the woman’s failure was “an embarrassment.”
On arrival at the centre, the governor took time to peruse some of the teachers’ credentials and documents presented.

Femi Fani Kayode Apologises
Apparently tired of the thunder and brimstone trailing his recent claim that he once had intimate intimate relationship with three distinguished Nigerian ladies, former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has apologised, saying that he meant no harm with the statement.
Fani, while trying to explain that he is not a tribalist in an article entitled ”A Word For Those Who Say I am A Tribalist”, dropped names of three Igbo ladies he had intimate relationship with in the past.
Press Secretary to Fani-Kayode, Bisi Lawal, in a letter of apology; said he (femi kayode) regrets mentioning the three ladies in the write up.
The letter reads, “Chief femi Fani-kayode expresses his deepest regrets or mentioning the names of that he was once associated with in his last article titled ”A Word For Those Who Say I am A Tribalist”. He meant no harm by doing so and neither did he at any point make references to having had any sexual relations with any of these ladies when they were associated with him as is being suggested by some members of the public. He was simply trying to emphasise the fact that he has nothing against the igbo people and that his friendship with these three ladies in particular over the years provided some evidence of that.
“For the record he has not seen Madame Chioma Anasoh, Chief Adaobi Kate Uchegbu and Ambassador Bianca Onoh in many years and he admits that it was inappropiate for him to have mentioned their names in the essay, to use them as a point of reference in a public discussion or to make any references whatsoever to the nature of their past association. All references to them have been erased from the updated version of the essay.
“Chief Fani-Kayode has reached two of the ladies concerned and he has personally conveyed his unreserved apology to them both and to their families for his indiscretion. He shall endeavour to reach the third lady to do the same in the next few days. Chief Fani-Kayode has nothing more to say on this matter and would prefer to remain focused on issues of national importance and not of a personal nature.
