Twenty eight children within the age bracket of one and 15 years were rescued by the Nasarawa State Police Command from a baby-making factory in Keffi, Keffi Local Government Area of the state.
The police also confirmed that the alleged proprietor of the factory has been arrested.
The rescue mission was aided by a tip from one of the kidnapped children who managed to sneak out from the baby factory where they were kept to alert neighbours of his peril.
According to one of the residents, "the boy said he was kidnapped by some people on his way to the market at Mpape in Abuja and brought to the house. Initially, we didn't believe the boy until when we alerted the police who conducted a search and saw other boys and young pregnant ladies who begged them for help."
He added that expensive cars had been coming around to pick children, adding that they never saw any of the occupants of the building interacting with people around.
"We have never suspected any criminal activity going on in the house because of the calibre of people that usually visit the place," he added.
Confirming the report on Tuesday evening, the state Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Cornelius Ocholi, said investigations were still ongoing into the matter.
He added that the headquarters had received a signal on the matter and the public would be duly informed on its findings.
