Associated Airline plane which crashed this morning around Mafoluku area of Oshodi in Lagos was reportedly carrying the body of late Gov Agagu to Akure .
Eyewitnesses say the crash happened at the local wing of the airport, close to the section where JET-A1, plane fuel is stored. The aircraft is said to have crashed as it took off.
At the scene, fire service officials were seen evacuating the occupants of the plane and are yet to determine the extent of casualty.
Indications however suggest that none of the 20 passengers on-board survived the incident, including family members of the late governor.
Yakubu Datti, the spokesman of the Nigeria aviation agencies, has asked for more time to get concrete details of the accident. Unconfirmed reports also state that ex head of state's Olusegun Obasanjo's son, top PDP dignitaries were those aboard plane.
