update: Anambra State Election

The election is ongoing right about now in Anambra State, here are short profiles of the contestants in today's election.meanwhile ,Mallam Nasir El-rufai arrested by SSS lst night at Awka in Anambra state but have been released and He is currently monitoring the election there.

Ifeanyi Ubah

Ifeanyi Ubah was born on September 3, 1971 into the family of late Mr. and Mrs Alphonsus Ubah of Umuanuka, Otolo in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations.

Ubah, a successful business mogul, was the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director ,Capital Oil & Gas Industries Limited. He took the company as dominant leader in the downstream sector of the Nigerian oil and gas industry to its enviable height within nine years through visionary leadership.

His greatest support is coming from the youths who believe that Ubah would find solution to their problem of unemployment and so today the Unemployed youths and others queue behind Ubah

Mr. Tony Nwoye

If the support of youths and students are anything to go by, the governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Tony Nwoye, might emerge victorious in today’s Anambra State governorship election.

FORMER Anambra State Governor Chris Ngige

Dr. Chris Ngige, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in today’s election in Anambra State, represents the Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

Ngige was the governor of the state from May 29, 2003 to March 15, 2006. He ruled for 34 months before he was ousted by the Appeal Court to pave the way for incumbent Governor Peter Obi.

He is believed to be a frontline candidate for today’s election because one of his strengths when he ruled for 34 months was the will to execute projects that endeared  him to the hearts of the people. For instance, he built roads across the state and completed some abandoned road projects. He ensured that the welfare of workers and pensioners were settled through prompt payments.

As the APC candidate for today’s election, some of Ngige’s kinsmen may still be bitter with the recent controversial deportation of some Igbos by the Lagos State Government which is another APC state.
He is also from a senatorial zone where the incumbent Governor Obi hails from.

So far its been peaceful, election materials arrived early and the turn out is said to be impressive.........
